We stayed at the Husa Pyramid Hotel for 4 nights..the staff were very helpful but the hotel was not what europeans would class as a four star hotel..the rooms really need a complete over haul and re-decorating.
The view from the panorama bar on the 8th floor is very good and a nice place to sit in the sun with a drink.
If you are looking for a basic hotel near the pyramids then i think this is the one..if you can cope with the crazy traffic as its on the main road.

“Not for me”

Husa Pyramids

24 Apr 2008

Had to clean the bathroom with anti-bacterial wipes before it was fit to be used. AirCon didn't work. Breakfasts came with cheap instant coffee and orange cordial instead of fresh coffee and orange juice. Room was right next to Mosque - great if you want to be woken very early each morning. Doesn't deserve a 4* star rating. 3* maybe. Cheap and (sometimes) cheerful is how I would rate this hotel overall. Also stayed at Le Meridien, Heliopolis which was much better.

This is a good relatively new hotel close to the pyramids. Nothing much to say about it: buffet breakfast is OK with a lot of egyptian food not very tasty but you can it as much as you can. Stays on the main road so you will hear the signals of crazy egyptian drives. Otherwise it is clean, bed is OK, there is a swimming pool.

Slightly overpriced if you book directly from the hotel but if you try to get discount on the various internet booking sites it is OK. I think one of the best deals in non central Cairo.

Be careful: no taxi driver knows about it, so give the address or have a card from the hotel on arabic. Front desk people speak good English.

“All women beware the masseuse”

This was a lovely hotel. The staff were great. So helpful!!! We HIGHLY recommend the in house taxi company. The prices they have for day trips out and about are the best around and the cars are beautifully clean and fully air conditioned. BUT BEWARE THE MASSEUSE WHO WORKS FROM A SMALL OFFICE IN THE HOTEL!!! If I had been in the UK when this man did what he done to me I would have contacted the Police immediately. I was afraid to speak to the Police in Egypt but it was FAR beyond the normal treatment you would expect from a professional (I’m not joking either). I urge all women visiting this hotel to avoid this man no matter how cheap his prices and how much you are aching from the camel rides.
Please don’t let this put you off the hotel itself as other than the above it was a wonderful experience.

Although classed as a 4 star we were a little disappointed in the general standard. That said, the staff were all very helpful, courteous and friendly. We called ahead and a limo pickup was organised, due to long delays at passport control - visa check etc for all travellers we expected limo to have gone, but were pleasantly suprised that the driver waited over one hour for us. Be advised before joining queue at passport check make sure you purchase visa from Bank Misr next to Passport control 90 L.E. each (about £9.00)

Main areas of hotel were spotless, rooms could do with some TLC and there was no tea/coffee in room. Room service cheap and quick and breakfast was from 7am - 11am, eat as much as you want. If you need quiet ask for room at back, front rooms are very noisy with traffic and Mosque call to prayers. Would recommend for low cost hassle free base to visit Cairo and Pyramids. Negotiate price for trip before entering one of the many taxis, or ask reception what the expected cost of the taxi would be. Reception can also organise taxis or trips for you.
