This wonderful hotel gave us the best of both worlds - situated on the west bank, it is a peaceful sanctuary, and yet a stones throw from the ferry and the east bank of Luxor town.
The hotel is built in traditional style and has an easy spacious feel which extends to the interiors of rooms which are domed. The gardens and foliage all around are beautiful, and the roof garden looks out across the Nile to Luxor Temple which is lit up at night. The room rates and cost of food from the kitchen are very reasonable, and the food is delicious.
However, as we all know, the above would mean nothing were it not for the management and staff, and that's where this hotel scores top marks in my book.
It is run by a lovely English Lady, Christine, who is married to Mohammed, one of the owners. They couldn't do enough for us, and that goes for all the staff working there. They were all superlative and very welcoming.
The cleaning staff were amazing and left our room spotless with fresh towels every day, which were fashioned into a different 'sculpture' every day on our bed - I have only seen this before in 5 star hotels.
Thank you Christine, Mohammed, and all the management and staff for making our trip to Luxor.
