We stayed in this hotel twice - one night at the start and one night at the end of our safari. We booked this hotel because it was marketed as the only suite hotel in Nairobi but like everyone else there, we were just passing through and didn't really spend time in the any part of the hotel other than the restaurant and our room. We had different rooms on each occasion. We found both the restaurant and the pizza restaurant good. The suite however was disappointing. The bedroom was a good size and there was a separate nicely fitted sitting room and good sized bathroom. But, the whole suite was in total need of redecoration and the bathroom, whilst clean, needed gutting.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and were concerned to make safe arrangements for anyone who wished to travel around town.
If you are staying here as part of a safari holiday, one good point was that they did hold the baggage that we didn't want to take on safari.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes with reservations. However, I am sure there are other good options in the city even if they are not all suite hotels.

we stayed at the safari club hotel in late august. we found the lobby beautiful, the staff friendly and the room nice, clean and roomy. it was nice to have the living area, as well as the bedroom and bath. the hotel is located downtown and not too far from the airport. we found the pizza restaurant/grill had great food and went back again when we stayed a second time passing through nairobi.

we stayed at this hotel before and after our safari in Kenya. Very nice suites, breakfast was huge, staff very helpful and polite. I understand that they cannot change GBP coins(or any coins) into local currency in their banks so it helps if you tip in USD notes.

This hotel has certainly passed it glory days and is in need of renovation.However, the rooms are large - generally a suite with a separate sleeping and living room. However, the furniture and linen and the like is all very old. The staff are very friendly and helpful and keep the place very clean. It has a great little gym and nice pool area.
