We love Taku and will come back as often as possible. The food is great, fresh ingredients (the fish!) and beautifully presented. We particularly recommend the seared sashimi section - the Tuna, in particular.
The restaurant is cute and there is a lovely atmosphere. They use traditional Japanese decor and styling without being stiff and too "themed".
But the real star of Taku, for us, is the service. I once mentioned to Kathy, the Manager, that I loved the complimentary chocolates and asked where I could buy some of my own, she said she would look into it and get back to me. I received an email later from her saying that you can't buy them in the shops so she has prepared a special complimentary package for me to come and pick up when I want. On another evening, the waiter pointed out that he saw in my wallet that I had a membership card that entitled me to 10% off our bill, so he took the bill back and deducted the 10% off- I would never have known, if he hadn't pointed it out to me.
These are just some of the reasons why I can't recommend Taku enough. Yes, you will find that it is on the more expensive side, but it is no more expensive than crap places like "Hutong", but at least with Taku the food is to die for and the service impeccable.
