Ok so we were prepared for a small room having read the reviews, but as the man said this is Hong Kong... Although the room is small, and i mean tiny, it was on the whole clean and functional. Basic amenities included, i.e tea./coffee maker, tv etc. Even smaller en suite attached. Reception staff could perhaps be a little more jolly but were at least attentive during check out.

Although not as central as we would have liked, the hotel was within 3 minute walk from nearest MTR station (Yau ma tei).
If you have the legs for it ,you can walk to harbourfront at Tsim tsa tsui in 25 minutes and gasp in amazement at the glorious skyline that is central Hong Kong. Get there for 8pm and witness an extravaganza of neon lights and lasers being cast from above the skyscrapers.

Hong Kong is an astonishing place ,and if low on budget would consider staying at the Dorsett seaview again.

“Comfortable Value”

Dorsett Seaview Hotel

An excellent little hotel - part of Hong Kong's Dorsett Group and better than its sister hotel (Dorsett Olympic) that I have previously stayed in.

It is in a busy, crowded, colorful part of Kowloon - very close to the MTR and many bus routes including the Airport bus route A21. There is a big street market all around the hotel.

The room - while very small - was very comfortable with everything in it.

I highly recommend this hotel for a couple of nights.

Wife and I visited HK around Oct 2005 and stayed here for 3 days. We knew ahead of time that this Hotel was not on the water. Technically, there is a 'Sea View' if you go to the Breakfast location at the top...you get to see a small section of water :)

Hotel rooms are small (but then is HK after all). If you arrive late in the evening (as we did), we got bumped up to an 'Executive Room'. It's a bit larger and roomier than the standard rooms.

Make sure you are not on the floor with the Karaoke Lounge. The singing kept us up till 1 am one night.

The key to HK is to get out and enjoy the energy of the place. There is so much going on all evening that it is just fun to be outside walking around. The weather was great in October...we were wearing shorts all day. The humidity made it warmer than LA.

Pros:
Good Prices
Clean Hotel
Great Location
Right next to the Jade market which opens several nights a weeek and is great for bargain hunting for knick knacks.
2 Blocks away from the MTR which is great too.
Right near Nathan Road
Polite and Helpful Staff
Good Airport Shuttle (depends on time of day)

Cons:
Small Rooms (Exec Rooms are a little larger)
Breakfast options are pretty sad...but you can go out of the hotel and there are places on Nathan Road with lots of options.
Only 2 elevators and they can be a bit slow
Small Lobby can get crowded sometimes

Hints:
If you can arrange to arrive late in the evening (say after 9 pm), you may get bumped up to an 'exec room' on the higher floors

For Free Internet and better breakfast options, walk to Nathan road, take a right and there is a larger/newer hotel on the LEFT side that has a nice breakfast spread, fresh bottled juice and free internet stations. I forget the name so I apologize in advance.

There is also a Starbucks in this vicinity if you want bottled juices and sandwiches/danish etc.

You can get some attractive items at the Jade market..paintings, sketches, souvenirs. I would suggest going there 2-3 nights in a row to figure the best bargains and then start bidding once you know the competitive prices :). Remember, it is literally a 1/2 block from the hotel.

Hope this helps your decision

Smallest place I have ever seen. So small two people and two bags didnt fit. The restaurant which looks good in their pictures is nothing like it with food not only horrible but strange. The bed which felt like an ironing board gave me back problems for the 10 day stay. The service overall was average. Location is good but thats about it.
