this hotel is a real dump...
freezing cold in room: we were told they were out of heaters, note hotel staff are all wearing scarves in hotel, we were offered a blanket, when I said I do not spend my whole time in the room in bed I was met with a stare
smelly: the air smelled like fried food
bed very uncomfortable= horrible sleep
staff friendly on check in then could care less, when we said we were checking out a day early (out of two days) they did not say they were sorry but only that we may be charged for the second night and there was nothing the manager could do
view: we paid for a harbor view room, if you get stuck in this dump pay for a city view, you only get a sliver of the harbor anyway and the windows are so dirty it does not matter
dirty: dirty bathroom, carpets, you name it, fake designer touches, shower curtain that is too long and takes over half the tub is a nice touch
best part of it all was the internet was BROKEN so we were advised after one hour of confusion, on a business day when I was trying to get messages out before leaving for the day to GO TO AN INTERNET CAFE, "But it was only 5 minutes away!" great idea, and nice how they tried to charge us for the internet when we were checking out 15 minutes after being told this! the internet is still broken but we need special manager approval not to charge you! what a real dump, this was far worse than any backpacker bungalow I ever stayed in and only 100x the cost! avoid it!

Boutique hotel, only seven rooms per floor. Booked a business@pleasure special $1,900HK plus 13% tax and service with a “deluxe harbor view room”. Room 2106 had maybe two slivers of harbor view. Our traveling companions scored the 33rd floor, with a balcony, and a real harbor view for the same price but a tiny, tiny room. We tried to get higher and looked at our same room on the 27th floor and it was no better. Don’t bother with a “deluxe harbor view” price. Very small rooms, desk, one chair, mini-bar, safe, Kleenex, wash cloths, nice towels, bathtub with two great showers. Room lighting very dim, lamps on each side of the bed but controlled by a switch on one side of the bed.

We stayed at the Lan Kwai Fong as a stop over for 3 nights in Hong Kong on our Honeymoon to Australia.
The staff at the front desk were very friendly and efficient checking us in and arranging restaurant reservations we requested.
We stayed in a harbour view, standard room. It was nicely presented and very comfortable.
The hotel is in a great postion just minutes from the bars and restaurants in Soho and Lan Kwai Fong. Also easy access to the shopping centres, using the pedestrian walkways.
If and when we do return to Hong Kong, we would certainly return to the hotel and would consider staying in the deluxe room if staying longer.

I stayed at the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel last December. I was a bit apprehensive to stay there because of several negative reviews which I've read after the booking had been made. When I arrived in Central, I had to look for the hotel because the airport transfer service which I booked did not drop me off in front of the hotel. Luckily, the hotel is located about 2 minutes away from the main street. I was greeted by very courteous people from the front desk. Service was prompt and I was led to my room which featured this charming oriental theme. The room size is just right. Even if I had brought a companion, I don't think it would be too cramped. I also liked the bathroom. One of my concerns before the trip was the availability of hot water in the shower. I'm glad I didn't have a problem with that. Overall, my stay had been a pleasant one. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if I have business to attend to in the Central area.
