This is a great Hotel for late/early flights.

The hotel is new so everywhere is extremely clean
The rooms are really nice. Nice big tv and great Rainshower.

We also had room service which was tasty.

The hotel is attached to Citygate outlets for shopping and MTR station attached to mall.

Fantastic Hotel, rooms are great, highly recommend for a nights stopover in Hong Kong, or longer if you want. Easy access to the MTR, adjacent to the Citygate Factory outlet, and close to Disneyland and the Big Buddha.

“Handy for a quick stopover, even a trip to the city”

The 3 minute ride from the airport is a bonus. I used this hotel a number of times in August whilst transiting into Asia. The hotel is typical Novotel, clean, well appointed and geared towards the business traveller. Even though it's a great hotel due to it's location to the airport, it also sits next to a train station. It's a 30-40 minute ride into the city so a quick shopping trip before the next flight is possible. If you don't want to travel into the city, the hotel sits on a major three level shopping centre with restaurants, cafe's, a supermarket, clothes stores, electronics and also a few outlet stores with name brands about 50% off. A perfect stopover hotel.

“Five minutes away from the airport and all we could want in a hotel!”

Novotel Citygate Hong Kong

Five minutes away from the airport and all we could want in a hotel! This hotel provides something for every weary traveler who may be using Hong Kong as a short stop.

ARRIVAL
On exiting customs and immigration it was easy to find the area for the free shuttle bus. Complimentary shuttle service to / from airport from 6am-11:45pm at 15-minute intervals, please approach A16 or B16 counter at the arrival hall. The representative from the hotel accompanied us from the counter at arrivals down to the bus. On our departure the shuttle services hadn’t commenced & taxis were waiting and it was only a few minutes and we were back at the airport to take our flight.

RECEPTION/BOOKING
We made our reservation direct on the hotel website. We found the hotel most efficient and professional from the time of our reservation & prompt responses to our emails to our first impressions on arrival. The check in time was 1400 and check out 1200. Our flight times were after and before these times so we had no issue accessing the room on arrival straight away. Check out from the hotel was a quick process and we were assisted to the waiting taxi. Very good experience overall.

ROOM
We were very impressed with our room. It was modern, clean, and just like the photos on the website. Ample space for our luggage & slippers and robes provided. It was a good size room. The bathroom is open plan that makes the room seem bigger. There is the toilet behind one opaque door and the shower hidden sleekly behind the other. This is in one of our attached photos. The bed was comfortable, the room very clean, and the mini bar/drink making facilities well disguised under the vase centre piece on entry. The flat screen TV was well disguised in a fireplace type setting mounted in the wall. The room was everything we could want in an airport hotel and it was very quiet – no noise at all! A good range of amenities were available, iron and iron board & electronic safe.

FACILITIES
The facilities provided by this hotel are ideal for the traveler spending time for a short stop in Hong Kong. There was a business centre near reception. We purchased an internet card – good to share that once the card is activated cannot be reused. The pool area is one of the nicest I have ever seen in a city hotel, especially one near an airport! Certainly take the bathers along if it is during Hong Kong’s warmer months as the swimming pool is a delight! The gym was a good size with excellent equipment. We didn’t eat at the restaurants at the hotel; we went to the shopping centre next door. There was a nice Thai restaurant in the shopping centre on the ground floor next to the supermarket – a little crazy to get a table but worth the wait.

AREA
Citygate Outlets is the shopping centre connected by escalator from the reception area. We discovered shops, restaurants, supermarket and coffee bars. There was a nice Thai restaurant in the shopping centre on the ground floor next to the supermarket – a little crazy to get a table but worth the wait. There are staff at the front that will ask how many the table is for, record the name and then give a ticket. With a microphone the number is called out and then one is taken to the table. The menu is in Thai, Chinese and English with photos for items as well. The tea that is brought straight away is charged so if one doesn’t want this make it known quickly. This hotel is also a great base to explore as through the shopping centre is the cable car to Ngong Ping Village, Po Lin Monastery with the Big Buddha. The Tung Chung MTR station is also found there as well, to the centre of Hong Kong is around thirty minutes and to nearby Disneyland about 15 minutes.

Would definitely stay here again if we had a short stop over time in Hong Kong!

“Wish I could have stayed longer”

Novotel Citygate Hong Kong

28 Aug 2007
3/3 found this review helpful

We stayed here for two nights and were thrilled with our accommodations. I had booked via the hotel's website, which was the cheapest I could find anywhere. When I checked in, they upgraded me from a queen jr suite to a king jr suite on the 22nd floor. The room was absolutely fabulous. Everything was very modern, tons of closet space, a large bed with a huge plasma tv mounted on the wall, and floor to ceiling windows with a fantastic view. The bathroom was absolutely my dream bathroom, with a step down large shower and bench inside, separate toilet compartment, and huge jacuzzi soaking tub. There was even a tv built into the wall with surround speakers so you could soak and watch tv.
Apparently I was booked on a business floor, so I was escorted up to the 21st floor for private checkin. I didn't take advantage of the business lounge but saw it briefly and it was very nice.
We had breakfast for 2 mornings and the buffet was excellent. Lots of different types of food, enough to please you no matter if you prefer western or asian food.
We took the MTS train to Hong Kong Disneyland and it was really easy to get to. The train station is in the adjoining mall, and then it's one stop to Sunny Bay station, where you change to the Disneyland rail which goes directly to Disneyland.
My only disappointment in this hotel was that I was only staying two nights and not longer. I will definitely pick this hotel again if I return to Hong Kong.
