I think the previous reviewer must have stayed in a different hotel! We stayed here on 1st February 2008, after booking on the Accor website.

The view from the side of this hotel is of a slum (there is no other word for it). The 1960's-style furniture and decoration have seen much better days.

The bed in our room was broken. On investigation, the bed was sub-standard compared to other hotels: a slatted wooden base with a poor matress on top, and some of the wooden slats were broken. As a result, we spent the night sleeping in a 'valley' formed by the matress sagging through the bed base. Diabolical!

The shower in the bathroom produced a pitiful trickle of water, which was absolutely useless after 22 hours on planes and in airports.The breakfast was a tiny selection and was cold.

There is no wireless or wired internet in the rooms, but when they failed to get the basics of a hotel room right (ie: good bed and shower) , then I didnt expect there would be.

My first Ibis hotel, and I like it. The interior decor is nice, modern, and sufficiently stylish. The standard room i stayed in was quite small but clean, blue, nicely decorated. I payed $46 nett via booking.com. The staff are average in friendliness.

The location was great. Food can be found easily in the vicinity. The Sabang food street is just 5 minutes away. Jalan Jaksa also about 5 minutes walk away. There are some bars, cafe there. Its also less than 10 minutes away from Sarinah mall and other adjacent malls. Taxis and bajaj's can easily be found outside the hotel. Also can find money changer and internet cafe next to the hotel.

Theres a train station about 15 minutes away called Gondangdia. This leads to JKT Kota station to the north and other areas south and west of Jkt. I wanted to try this out but the ppl at the reception advised against using the train. Pickpockets apparently.

I would come back here, unless i can find a cheaper hotel of this standard.

This hotel is in a good location for a quick stop in Jakarta. It is very close to the “center” of town and Gambir train station as well as the convenient to the large number of travel agents on JL Jaksa if you are making onward plans. A “Bluebird” taxi stand is conveniently located in front of the hotel.

The lobby and public areas are decent and clean. Rooms are the typical Ibis hotel rooms (clean but quite basic, characterless, and bland) and ours had a bit of wear and tear evident. The breakfast buffet was great with a large number of tasty choices. Considering the location and that we only paid $45 a night including breakfast (booking through asiarooms.com) the Arcadia was better than we expected. I’d stay here again but not for more than a night or two as it is quite basic with few charms and amenities

Smart boutique hotel in the perfect central location. Furthermore, we love the price & their service! Would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable hotel with great room design in Jakarta!
