I have stayed in the Park Lane twice in 2007, both stays were about three weeks long.
This hotel is probably by far the cheapest 5-star in Jakarta and it really does offer a lot compared to a few renowned hotels I've been to in Europe and America.
The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious, equipped with a very large mirror and an impressive bathroom sized much bigger than all others I've seen.
The hotel staff is professional, always friendly and smiling, and I have not come across a single person who did not speak English - again, not something you can expect everywhere in the world. They also do their best to memorize your name, a nice extra touch, especially for frequent visitors.
The executive option is also a good value, with the lounge located on the top level being a great place after long hours spent in the office - good spot for both business and leisure meetings, a complimentary small buffet/snack dinner and drinks.
The grade of the hotel location will most likely depend on your daily destination, so I can't rate it really - the truth is you will be using taxis to go anywhere, but on the other hand, you would do so from any other hotel in the city as well.
Cons:
- web access is not included in the room price and what you can purchase is not of the greatest value and is pretty expensive (exceeding 50€ a week) - a rip-off even for business, not to mention private stays...
- good looking but not a very comfortable chair in the room, unsuitable for long after-hours work... But this is similar in other hotels.
Overall, a great value for money, especially that the corporate rate was far less than the average price shown here.
