The Park Lane is an affordable business hotel right in the heart of Jakarta. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. Quick to respond to any room requests. Amenities are great and the breakfast buffet has very good food choices for halal and non-halal.

I have stayed in the Park Lane twice in 2007, both stays were about three weeks long.
This hotel is probably by far the cheapest 5-star in Jakarta and it really does offer a lot compared to a few renowned hotels I've been to in Europe and America.
The rooms are nicely decorated and spacious, equipped with a very large mirror and an impressive bathroom sized much bigger than all others I've seen.
The hotel staff is professional, always friendly and smiling, and I have not come across a single person who did not speak English - again, not something you can expect everywhere in the world. They also do their best to memorize your name, a nice extra touch, especially for frequent visitors.
The executive option is also a good value, with the lounge located on the top level being a great place after long hours spent in the office - good spot for both business and leisure meetings, a complimentary small buffet/snack dinner and drinks.
The grade of the hotel location will most likely depend on your daily destination, so I can't rate it really - the truth is you will be using taxis to go anywhere, but on the other hand, you would do so from any other hotel in the city as well.
Cons:
- web access is not included in the room price and what you can purchase is not of the greatest value and is pretty expensive (exceeding 50€ a week) - a rip-off even for business, not to mention private stays...
- good looking but not a very comfortable chair in the room, unsuitable for long after-hours work... But this is similar in other hotels.
Overall, a great value for money, especially that the corporate rate was far less than the average price shown here.

Park Lane hotel Jakarta
I have a positive recommendation for this hotel. The service level was very high. We arrived early , before check in time and they allowed us to check in early. I know there's no guarantee of this but it shows a commitment to customer service. Other commendable services were the doorman, high security at the gate, the housekeeping and breakfast staff.
The room was clean, bathroom excellent. Big bathtub, lots of hot water, quick drainage, high water pressure. Small bottle water free of charge.
Yes, I see a previous reviewer commented on the cemetery accross the road; while it is noticable, it's also possible to ignore and not visible from all rooms.
Downside: Location is not good for access to train, shopping centers main roads. Taxis are a must for everywhere, nothing is walking distance. But this can also be a plus depending on why you need this location. Traffic is JAMMED 80% of the time. Count on a minimum 20 minute taxi ride to anywhere. With traffic, the ride to the airport was 1hour 18 minutes. This is reported as good timing!

What I loved most about this hotel is its spacious bathroom. I could actually use the bathtub (and it's large, I could even extend my legs). I also liked its elegant design, a variety of tv channels to choose from, efficient and helpful hotel staff and super comfy bed.
Areas I feel could be improved include: more lighting as the room is too dark to read/write, longer internet cable so that guest can use their laptop while lying on the bed, Indonesian restaurant within the hotel, massage parlour, and better selection of room service cuisine (i.e. more local food).
The scary part is that it is located near cemetery area so I could see rows of tombstones from my room. It wasnt exactly pleasant especially at night. It is centrally located and close to Plaza Indonesia Shopping Mall.
