Me and friends decided to take a trip to Jakarta. In a group of 4 adults and 2 children and most making their first trip to Jakarta, we had book for 3 rooms for 3 nights each at Mulia Senayan complete with Limo pick up at the airport.

We were welcomed by Mulia representative just as we passed immigration and assisted us with our luggage and ensuring the limo waited for us as we arrived at the pickup point. Very comfortable ride with a very friendly driver that welcomed us with the general info on Jakarta. And since we had planned for a day's trip to Bandung, we had also shared with us the intended journey and where to shop in Bandung which was a bonus.

Check in was a breeze with all procedures hassle free. Rooms were ready as per our request prior to our arrival. The room is of "Mulia" high standard.

Staying within the hotel facility and enjoying the pool and even children weekend activities was a holiday by itself. Staffs were very friendly ensuring to assist us with our bags each time we come back from shopping and sending it to our rooms.

To make it short. My friends had high comments on Mulia... the room, the service and enjoyed relaxing having dinner at the lobby lounge while listening to live music background.

Mulia is both a business and family retreat... Business away from the office and retreat away from home.

I have read MoiBeenThere review on Hotel Mulia Senayan Jakarta, and was taken aback by MoiBeenThere comments which is largely based on his personal opinion of an industry veteran.

His comments are mostly contradictive to what other people wrote in this Travel Advisor which we really think is unfair to the hotel.

Hotel Mulia Senayan is our corporate hotel since 2005, we had stayed in various chain hotels in Jakarta before we decided upon Hotel Mulia Senayan, hence we are indignant when we read MoiBeenThere negative and superficial comments about the hotel, and we would like to offer our justified comments based on our positive and memorable experiences the past few years.

Hotel Mulia Senayan is a reputable and luxurious local 5-star independent hotel in Jakarta that is known for its best security features in Jakarta.

This is the only hotel that provides one of the most spacious guestrooms in Jakarta. Its rooms are very well furnished with good choice and quality of amenities and benefits offered. In fact , for the record, their high speed internet connection is the fastest internet connection in town.

We have tried all its F&B outlets in the hotel, and taking this opportunity, we would like to offer our compliments to its chef who constantly improve the menus that offer superior tastes to cater to travelers from various countries.

As for the billings, being a seasonal travelers, we would usually check the billings before we checked-out, and should there be a discrepancy on the bills, we would request for a revision. It’s the same principle when we order food in a restaurant, we have to check the items on the bill before we make the payment right! Likewise for the laundry services. Hence this is not a big issue.

We have been traveling around the globe for the past 10 years, and have never experience a “glitches free” hotel in which everything from services to facilities is ”perfect”, as “To Err is Human” and “To err is inevitable for all, being not perfect”.

Before we made the decision to give our feedback, we have to measure how serious the mistake is, how tolerant we can be to the mistakes made, and how fast the hotel respond, react and offer a solution to it.

Last but not least, Hotel Mulia Senayan is the only hotel we would choose to stay when in Jakarta, as it has met our corporate travel compliances – security, budget, facilities, services, and quality of its F&B. And we will continue to spread good words of it to our business partners, associates, family and friends.

Disclaimer: All and only personal opinion, review and experiences were offered. No form responsibility will be accepted for any and all adopt or adaptation of the following contents for all and any form or sort of usage and/or reference.
Hotel Mulia is one of the nicest and grand hotel in Jakarta. It has plenty of facilities to cater to business, personal needs and requirements. Staffs were of standard courtesy behavior, however unfamiliar with crisis management.
The rooms are well furnished, but are rather used. toiletries offered are much lower quality and standard in comparison to well-known hotel group or chain.
There are many different type of rooms offered, furnishing standards are more or less similar. One of the vast difference, would be in the toilet facilities. The automated toilet-bowl for higher grade rooms and better shower heads.
For in-room massage services, prices are on high side and service quality is not as expected. After massaging a period of time, the massage therapist will start ask if you do require "special" service. Should the "special" service is not required, therapist will be no longer interested in continuing with the remaining task.
It is very important to check the billing upon checking out of the hotel, as there is a high tendency for the hotel to have errors in the billings.
Should laundry services are required, do check your laundry upon return for damages.
Security guards were all round the hotel, but checks were only normal routine, performing for the sake of performing and nothing particular or special.
As for dining within hotel, there are plenty of choices to choose from: Chinese, Japanese, International and Italian.
Most of the in-house food establishment offers buffet, which have a variety of choices and more than sufficient food to fill the belly. However, should quality is desired, the offerings is more of mid-level instead of high. The only restaurant which do not offer buffet is the Italian restaurant, Il-mare.
The Cascade Lounge is widely spaced and comfortable, with live singing performance at night. For more raunchy entertainment, it will be the CJ's bar, one of the well known night spot in Jakarta for infamous freelancers roaming in the outlet for would be customers. A so-so live band with repeating songs, night after night.
In conclusion, a city hotel worth to take a look, but not memorable.

This was my first time staying at Mulia - I used to stay at Marriott and Shangri-La the few times that I had visited Jakarta before. I found the Mulia staff to be very friendly and helpful, and professional. Mulia, itself, was high quality, clean and very comfortable - rooms were definitely very roomy! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues for their future travels to Jakarta!
