I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta for two nights (Oct 23-24). I was throughly impressed with the facilities and the service. I stayed at the concierge level, who remembered my name every time I came back. I found the room to be of superb quality. The breakfast on the top floor was impeccable. I did not have a chance to try any of the restaurants in the hotel though. Would certainly stay again here if I visit again.

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton for 4 nights on a business trip.
For this purpose, the hotel was very good. Excellent facilities, good bars & restaurants, very large, comfortable room with fabulous bathroom and 42" plasma TV, good service and a high level of security (you have no idea how high unless you've been to Jakarta). As with most very large hotels, it had that strange feeling of anonymity but, for a business trip, that's OK.
What I'm looking for on this type of trip is comfort, facilities and reliability when I've just got off a 13 hour flight. The Ritz Carlton had all of those things.
Check-in was a bit vague and slow - not ideal at a 5-star hotel with an important VIP guest in tow, but we got there in the end and it all worked out. Paying for the business centre services (to print out boarding passes) was also a little off at this type of hotel, but still not the end of the world.
The restaurants and bars were good, important in Jakarta when it's not advisable to leave the hotel, and the buffet restaurant was very good. Ice cream teppan-yakki? Yep...
For me, this doesn't match up to true 5-star accomodation in Europe or the US in terms of the little, inconsequential things that make those hotels worth the extra, but for all the things that matter, it was top notch.
When I return to Jakarta, this is where I'll stay.

I stayed at this hotel on business during August and it is a first class establishment. The hotel is luxurious with an impressive lobby and public areas. As this is Jakarta the security on entering the hotel is extreme (vehicle searches, x-ray machines, etc) but necessary and highlights that the hotel takes it responsibilities seriously. The staff at reception are friendly and efficient and everyone knows there duties. The rooms are enormous (the biggest room I have ever stayed in) and decorated in luxurious style. Great bed, plenty of space, dressing room and brilliant bathroom featuring a massive bath and rain fall shower. I didnt eat in the restaurants althought they looked impressive but the room service was nice. Table in your room which they removed at the end of the meal and the food was good (and a reasonable selection although not as good as i have seen in other hotels of this standard). Good location for business and pretty good facilities including a large modern gym (with on hand instructors and trainers) and an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a great relaxing area. I would love to stay in this hotel again but this time for pleasure rather than business so that I could take full advantage of the services it offers (SPA, etc)

I stayed at this hotel on 21-22 July 07. I've never read the review before and so amaze just when we open the room. We have a room at 18 floor.

The room is huge, very clean and a comfortable with two 1.6 (or 1.8?) x 2m bed. My son (15 months) was very happy and he keeps walking.

The details of the room are per other traveller review and the food is good too.

I love the "bath salt" and it smell very good.

No doubt that this is the best hotel that I ever stayed. Can't wait to return to RC again !
