Lima never fails to impress me with every visit. The Gold museum (Museo Oro Peru), the Larco museum and the Pedro Osma museum in that order are Lima`s finest.
Have been to Larco before and find it now more exquisite and well kept than ever, the sexual ceramics are fantastic and the flying balloon ceramic unique. It has a small collection of gold artifacts too , the dangerous neighborhood is a concern though. The good news is that the Gold Museum has opened a subsidiary at the Larcomar shopping mall and while smaller than the old place has probably the best and largest collection of ancient gold artifacts. The Osma museum is a grand estate home in Barranco that houses the best colonial silver collection in the Americas. Lima is a city of museums on par with any other.

Displaying an impressive collection of pre-Columbian art, the museum provides a good overview of the history of Peru. If you have the chance to get a guide, don't miss it! They add something that will make this visit an unforgetable adventure in the ancient peruvian times. The garden is worth a look, as well as the restaurant's worth a try. Enjoy the visit!!

This is a very nice and very well kept museum. If you love Peru history, you will enjoy it. I was a bit surprised by the prices. Its a shame that Peruvian people cant evn go to see this museum at ten dollars a person. The place is pretty small and can be seen in about n hour.
The restaurant is also nice but be awre that the prices are expensive and they add a service fee for something lus the 19 percnet IGV so expect to pay about 30 percent more than the printed price. I dont like seeing one price and then having to pay another. This is more true when the first price was high enough,

The limenian museum, situated in a beautiful mansion, is worth a visit. Take a guided tour - the friendly guide explained a lot of interesting additionals!
The deserts and cakes in the restaurant are absolutly recommendable!!

I recommend: visit the museum and try the deserts (postres) in the café.

I've been visting the museum Larco, took a guided tour and was deeply impressed by the presentation of the mochica art. Also Inca gold and the world record in stich-by-stick-sewing could be seen... - at the end of the tour their is a special "sexual objects" exibition that's pretty fun visiting.
At the end of the tour we had some nice coffee at the Museums state of the art restaurant, which not only offers pretty good deserts (postres) but also a variety of typical peruvian food.
Overall coment: It'a a recomendable, satisfying experience for a relaxed day in Lima.
