Being my first time in eastern Europe, I kept my expectations low and ended up surprisingly satisfied. I was amazed at the environmentally friendly design of the rooms in that the room key also controlled the lights so that you'd never leave the room without turning off the lights. The service was great and although not all staff spoke English they were friendly and helpful that language barrier was non-existent. They were also young which lends itself an eager staff willing to go the distance to assist travelers.

The restaurant sometimes is booked for other events and so you do end up eating in the bar; when that happens. The food is great, but more pricier than normal Minsk food prices, but it is expected with most hotels I've been.

Rooms were clean and nice and the hotel rates at least 4 star quality by US standards. For an eastern European country thats a tough measure to meet.

The hotel is also across the way from victory park, which offers a nice walk or jog as the hotel gym could use a little more equipment if you are a workout buff.

I stayed at the Victoria for 6 nights as a business traveller in October 2008.
This modern establishment, completed in 2007, is a competitive alternative to other higher category hotels in the city. The location is good, if not slightly removed from the city centre, but on one of the main highways of Minsk.
Prices for rooms are similar to those charged by the better class hotels in the city, but the service received at the hotel is first-class.
The restaurant and bar is expensive by Belarus standards but the quality of a la carte food was praiseworthy.
The predominately young staff are keen to assist and English is understood almost everywhere.
As a regular traveller in Eastern Europe, I was delighted to discover this new alternative in Minsk. I shall certainly return there on future business trips.
Downsides? Very few, but on the weekend I arrived the restaurant was closed for a wedding and food had to be taken in a small, smoke-filled bar. Also, there appear to be many staff just standing around waiting, but perhaps I chose a time when the hotel was not full. Nevertheless, it was noticable that there was no sign of the sullen service which unfortunately can still be found in establishments elsewhere in this area.

For this part of the world it was a nice surprise. The rooms have 2 single beds but are nicely decorated and the bedding is quite comfortable. Large bathroom. Free wi-fi in the lobby only.

Just come back from a business trip to Minsk staying at the Victoria for 2 nights. I have no idea whether the hotel is central or not- as I only left it to go back to the airport (which is 48 kms away!) but there seemed to be nothing obvious around to suggest a town centre/ shops nearby. Having said that, the hotel is fabulous, well-presented, very helpful staff, fairly spacious rooms with modern décor. Very quiet everywhere, slept well- especially after a massage- which is easily the best I’ve ever had! There’s also a hairdresser on site and a bureau de change (exchange rates looked reasonable). The hotel overlooks the river which looked pretty though weather was grey and London-like so couldn’t see much of it. Breakfast was reasonable with a good range on offer. Only gripe is that you just can't get through to the hotel on the numbers given- my husband kept calling both evenings but no-one would answer at reception so called on my mobile in the end
