This charming, seven room B&B featured a delightful, well trimmed courtyard with small pool, colorful flowers and birds. The rooms were spacious, high ceilinged with fireplace and both matromonial and double beds decorated with local indigenous weavings, prints, statuary, with tiled floors. The breakfasts were limited in choices but ample, pure water was brought to the room daily and beds turned down. Windows open to the courtyard and the half open doors give a sense that everyone can be trusted. The rooms don't lock, but the courtyard is secure from the street. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room needed a little tidying up when we arrived. The hotel has WiFi, a TV in the laundry room with a refrigerator one can use; if you get an off street room, they are amazingly quiet. Interesting people book this hotel, we met, for example, middle aged language students, authors, designers, international bankers and Ph.D. students in politics and yoga instructors from Wisconsin and England. Conversation flows easily among travelers in this comfortable and gracious B&B. We would prefer this kind of hotel to the grand and more expensive five star up town while prices may be similar. The hotel offers transportation from Guatemala City for a $30.00 fee.
