I have stayed at this hotel for three weeks and I can honestly say it is a very nice and comfortable place to stay. I brought nine students down here with me and the language schools here at the hotel and all the services at this hotel have been excellent. The director Marlene and all of her helpers have been so helpful in making us feel at home. This hotel is not located right in the heart of Antigua (Central Plaza) with all the noise, but just on the outside of the busy section of Antigua, so the nights are quiet. The view of the Agua Volcano is perfect and on the top level the view is incredible even at night. I highly recommend this hotel not only because of the location and friendly service but also because it is very clean and very well put together. I have been very happy at Dos Loros and I plan to return to this same hotel and language school next year. For me both the hotel and school earn an A+.

“We LOVED the Dos Loros Inn”

My husband and I just returned from a 7 night stay at the Dos Loros Inn and we cannot say enough good things about it. There are 4 rooms in total- all very large and spotlessly clean. The decor is simple but beautiful with lots of use of indigenious materials. Candles are lit at night in planters round the courtyard-really nice. The courtyard itself is beautifully landscaped and maintained perfectly. The community kitchen was great- well stocked with all the pots/pans, etc. you need to prepare your own meals- and again- spotless. The Bodegonea (local biggest grocery store) is only a few minutes walk away and you can buy any groceries you may need if you want to prepare your own food. They also have a washing machine and a clothes line if you need to do any of your clothes. The view from the hotel balcony is breathtaking- volcanoes all around.

The Dos Loros is a 10 or so minute walk away from the center of town, but as a result, is very quiet and we felt very safe walking back there at night. If you don't want to walk there's lot's of tuk tuks and taxis you can take back to the room- all pretty cheap.

The staff, Marleni and Bart, were absolutey wonderful. They were so friendly and welcoming- the first place I've ever stayed where I hugged the staff goodbye! They went above and beyond at every opportunity, arranging for taxi's, excursions, restaurant reservations, even scheduling an in room massage from a local massage therapy shop.

We loved this place and even after 7 nights- weren't ready to go home!

Thank you Spirit Air... We booked our room through Spirit... It was a great move... Two older women traveling alone was a bit scary....But no problem here... We felt so safe and cared for... The view from our room was so neat we left the door or window open most of the time...So quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of the park area...A short walk to everywhere... But the cobblestone streets were too much for us ..so we used a tuk-tuk...What a great form of transportation !!!Marleni gave us a really good map and all we had to do was point to the location and we were off ...when it was time to return to the hotel we would do the same... Just point... All of the drivers had small calculators and the language was no problem either !!!I It was about $2.00 to go anywhere ...I would recommend this GREAT hotel to everyone !!! They made us feel really welcome...

“Great hotel! Loved the bathtub, loved the kitchen!”

Dos Loros Inn of Antigua, Guatemala

2 Jun 2008

Just came back (summer 2008) from backpacking around Central America and finished my trip in Antigua, Guatemala, and stayed at Dos Loros Inn. HOtel stay was great, I promised them I'd write a great review because they really went the extra mile for me. After staying in some pretty 3rd world hotels in El Salvador, staying in Dos Loros Inn was great, just like home or even better. Huge rooms, the bathroom alone was alarger than most of the other hotel rooms you'll find in Central America, and not just a shower but a fullsized full bathtub. After walking on Antigua's cobblestone streets all day a hot bath is just what I needed, and you almost never find bathtubs in CA. It was great@!

we only stayed one night but wished we stayed longer. this brand new inn is beautiful, almost elegant. the woodwork is striking. every detail is attended to. the view is as good as the more expensive, more established hotels. it gets our highest recommendation.
