About a 20 minute walk to the tourist port (where the nicer and pricier hotels can be found), this was not a good deal for the money. The business center was helpful.

I stayed in this Hotel for 1 night a few days ago. My room was a standard type with a cost of about 70 usd.
The hotel is in a very good location and has a really good Japanese restaurant (very nice environment, very nice service, very nice food) BUT...apart from that the rest is bad....
The people in the reception not so polite,....and the room a total disaster......dirty, unpleasant smell, paints falling from the walls, a/c of average capacity, dirty bathroom, etccc.....etcccc.....
A really bad experience......not pleasant stay at all..!!!

I was very pleasd with my experience with this personnel, involving EVERY task they were involved (all services). They were very professional, and efficient people in comparison of how this people earn with. i´m a spanish man, and spain is well known as a friendly country with foreigners, but with the service i received from the staff of this hotel, they made me feel like at home!, congratulations!!

I left the the Black Sea with absolute astonishment with the terrible service and corruption. After a long day I returned to the hotel and felt like a drink. The only bar that the hotel offered was linked to the tacky casino that runs within the establishment. With total amazement I was left with a £60 bill for two glasses of wine. After arguing with the staff, I asked for the menu to show what I had ordered. They returned with a completely different list! I am now left with an opinion of a corrupt and unfriendly city. Please without any doubt DO NOT stay in this terrible hotel.

This was a really pleasant place to stay. I arrived at 6am after an overnight train from Crimea, and it was no problem to be checked in straight away so I could have a snooze and a shower. The reception spoke English. The room was large and comfortable, easily the equivalent of a hotel in Western Europe. The shower arrangement was a bit weird, coming as it did from the basin taps, but it worked fine!
Breakfast was included, but it's served in the restaurant of the attached casino, so you get to see just what sort of people are interested in gambling at 7am (quite a few!).
The Black Sea Hotel is about 5 mins walk from the railway station, and 15 mins walk from the coast and main centre of Odessa. Odessa itself is a great city and the Black Sea Hotel is a good, cheap place to stay. Recommended.
