This hotel (AKA Black Sea Hotel) is not the best hotel in Odessa, but if you dont want to spend $150 a night, it's the best value you can get in the center. I was somewhat worried about this hotel when I booked it. I wasnt sure if I was going to be in some dump and have to change hotels or not, but I must say that I was really surprised and impressed by everything here.
The hotel was very nice and the people in reception spoke English. It has a pool, fitness center, beauty salon, business center, etc. But the best thing about this hotel was the restaurants. The food was excellent!! There is a Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, and a regular restaurant up the stairs (which also has a bar and casino). Both are very good, and the wait staff are very friendly.
As far as the rooms go, I had a semi-suite. I would NOT recommend staying in the most basic rooms... trust me. You will most likely have a tiny bed, no AC, and no private bathroom. It's totally worth the extra money to get an upgraded room.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and I highly recommend it to others looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Odessa. Remember, this is not the Marriott, but if you get one of the semi-suites or better, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with this hotel.
