Stayed with a friend for 4 nights in this hotel in early September. Hotel was recommended by another friend and it features in The Rough Guide.
We booked a twin room with sea view for €200 per night with breakfast. As previous reviewer pointed out, the reception is reached via stairs from where taxis leave you. Therefore, if you have heavy luggage, this can be a struggle.
Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. The room was of average size but there was no safe in the room. I expected a lot more for the price. The outdoor pool area is fine and the indoor pool was not in use.
On arrival we were advised that, by booking over the internet, we had a special deal of full board. We sampled the buffet dinner but it was not good and we never had dinner again there.
Breakfast was the usual continental buffet offering. When sunny, it was on an outside terrace. This allowed wasps to swarm all over the cooked meats with no attempt to remove them.
At the beach level of the hotel, there is a walkway with bars and restaurants with nice seats to have a beer in.
At the end of this walkway, (about 10 mins) there is a bus stop. To reach the town, take the No 6 bus to Pile Gate.
We returned to Dubrovnik at the end of our trip and booked a 2-bed apartment in the old town via the internet for €80 per night. I would recommend this to staying in a hotel.
Top recommendations for Dubrovnik are Proto (fish restaurant), Mea Culpa (pizza), Domino (steak), and The Hard Jazz Cafe for good music & fun at night sitting in a square.
