“Great place to relax”

Hotel Bozica

31 Oct 2007

We spent a very relaxing week at the Hotel Bozica on the island of Sipan earlier this month. We went mid-October, which was perhaps a bit late as we hit the very end of the season (September would perhaps be the ideal time to go), but nonetheless, we had good weather and we were looked after exceptionally well by the very friendly staff at the Hotel, who pretty much saw to our every need. Sipan and the neighbouring Elafiti islands are beautiful, and (so far) completely unspoilt. People are friendly, and it's easy (and very cheap) to get around by local ferry or hydrofoil. The sea is as clear as it gets, the surroundings are just stunning, and the Hotel Bozica really is set in the perfect place to make the best of both. Food at the hotel was of a very good standard. We also tried to visit local eateries as much as possible, and always found the food decent, although menus are, on the whole, fairly limited. Stick to the fresh seafood and the local wine, and you will not want for anything. Between visiting Lopud, Mljet, Dubrovnik and doing walking and boat tours of Sipan, we happily filled a week without exerting ourselves too much - but there are plenty of more energetic activities on hand and you will need a decent pair of walking shoes for walking around the islands. Highly recommended.

“Excellent all round”

Hotel Bozica

16 Sep 2007

We were looking for a place to relax on our summer holiday and this hotel was excellent. We couldn't believe our luck in finding it and being able to stay for so long. We originally only booked for 2 nights but in the end, stayed 5 nights because it was so good and we could not find anything better. We couldn't recommend it more. However, it is only for those who want to get away from it all because there is nothing much to do on the island except stay at the hotel. The rooms are very good, the view from every angle of the hotel was georgous, the food was excellent (seriously very good), and the private beach area with free sun beds and umbrellas was brillant and the pool was clean and modern. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull as well. Most of all, the value for money was unbelievable. Our first couple of nights was EURO 130 and then the rest of the stay was EURO 109 a night for two people with breakfast. But, don't pay for a room with a balcony because there is nothing to sit on and they each have a huge, solid wall as the railing which means even if you did sit out there, you can't see a thing. There was basically no point to the balcony. I almost don't want to write too much about this hotel because it is so good and I want it to remain our little find.....

“kayakers delight!!”

we arrived by kayak (yes kayak) as part of a week long tour of the islands.
our luggage was transferred from the ferry (without us) and was waiting in our room on our arrival.
The room was spotless, with a stunning view over the bay.
We we afraid to go inside as we were still in wet and dirty kayaking clothes!!!

Dinner was an amazing experience and though not the cheapest food we had in Croatia, it was most definitely the best.

Room was cleaned every day, and towels changed every day, even though we did not request it.

Pool was warm and floating in the pool looking over the bay with a setting sun was one of the highlights of the break.

The negative points?
There is still some minor construction taking place, so I guess the hotel could be a little noisy in the day, but as we were out every day, this is impossible to confirm.

Also, as previously mentioned, the food was not the cheapest we had - but having said that it was so good we didn't even consider eating elsewhere !!

The island itself is very quiet, so would be well suited to people looking to "chill out". I would suggest that 18-30 club and people trying to entertain kids need to look elsewhere

We would happily go back at any time for a total relax.

“Tranquil Location”

Hotel Bozica

Simply stunning location on this very small and quiet island. The hotel is beautiful despite only just opened and not quite being prepared for tourists! If you want relaxation and crystal clear waters this is ther perfect place. Very good value for money and the restaurant is excellent and reasonable (we only discovered how wonderful and cheap when we travelled to Dubrovnik and Cavtat and had terrible and very pricey food).

It is new hotel and so everything is new and clean. It is situated in about 20 m from the sea. So you can just go out from your suite to swim. The Hotel’s own beach is concrete slabs.

Island Shipan is very quiet place but well connected to Dubrovink (about 17 km or about one hour on ship about 6-8 times a day) and other Elafity islands. Although it have almost no beaches (Lopud island which is opposite Sipan will be much better in this case). Anyway you will get beautiful nature and gorgeous sea.

I can see 4 stars for this hotel on different sites (including Hotel official site). I don't know exactly what should 4 star hotel have to get this but anyway such amount of stars is not for this hotel :-)

There is no pool or any playing ground for children, no any other facilities except bar and restaurant. The way to the hotel from Sudurad village and ferry is not easy. You can choose between rising along the new road above the hotel (not very relaxing under the hot afternoon sun) or small path in bush where you can easily broke you leg.

The personal prefer to have a rest and there is nobody to look for them. If you need somebody at the desk she will be most probably taking your place at the small hotel's beach. Waiters don't know menu at all (I don't say about spoon for spaghetti or making second mistake with your order just after first one bringing you chicken from the salad instead of the salad you've ordered :-). If they promised to transfer you to the ship at 5:30 AM, be sure they wake up 10-15 minutes later.

They never change our bed and even touched it for whole week. They changed our towels only once. By some reason they needed to get them rolled up on the bath till we did it nobody meant to change them and even in this case we've got only half of the amount we rolled up.
And finally they charged my card twice for the dinners.
