If you come to Sibiu in spring or summer, you have to go to the Open Air Etnographic Museum (also known as Astra Museum).
On a space of 5 kilometers it exhibits traditional Romanian village houses from the 19th century. They also include a yard and adjacent buildings and traditional furniture. You can se windmills, watermills, pottery workshops and wool fabrication houses. It's just awesome to go back in time to when everything was crafted by hand. Weaving stools are also there, as well as horse carriages and everything u neded for a Traditional household.
There are also festivals where traditonal artisans exhibit their work and show the visitors how everything is made. the traiditon has ben kept for centuries, everything is crafted just like 200 years ago.
After visiting all the houses, u can relax by having a traditional meal in the 2 traditional restaurants (the best in town!!!) and also become active by rowing a boat on the lake!
A wonderful and unforgettable experience for young and old! as a local i can only recommend it!
