Very safe and friendly. Loved it.
Well I am just back from this hotel and I am gutted to be back home! It genuinely has been my best and favourite holiday so far. Everything was excellent.
We booked through Thomson and First Choice and we stayed for 2 weeks all inclusive. We booked before there was any trouble and we got a very reasonable price. I read the reviews on the internet before I came and I was a bit scared! We tried to change the holiday but we decided just to go. I am so glad we did. The reviews I read on this website were all horrible and mostly lies.
We met some people while we were on holiday who had a few bad things to say although it was a load of nonsense. One woman was complaining that the rooms at the back of the hotel had white stone balconys and the ones at the front had black balconys. There was also a woman who was very room and snobby towards the staff yet expected them still to be welcoming to her! These are the sort of people who leave bad reviews.
The hotel was lovely, the downstairs bar and restaurant are very nice and fancy. New lfits have just been installed. Our room was lovely, very nice and clean, the maid came every day although we told her not to bother some days as the room was clean. We had a seaview, and could also see the pool. View was really nice! There was a stain on the carpet which we didnt really have a problem with. We werent in the room a lot, only to get changed and to sleep. And the hotel is all getting refurbished and renovated so it is a bit obvious that they arent gonna rip a carpet out and fit a new one, when the room is gonna get ripped out in a month! We thought the room was lovely!
The food was very delicious. We were all inclusive so all food was free. Breakfast lunch and dinner were all buffets. We loved the food and our problem seemed to be that we ate too much of it! It was very tasty! There was a huge variety of food. I am quite a fussy eater but there was always plenty to eat! For breakfast there is a member of staff to make eggs however you like them, boiled fried omelette etc. There are lots of pastries and bread and lots of tomatoes veg cereal etc There is also a member of staff who makes crepes for you, with whatever fillling you want, sugar cheese salad etc.. sometimes chocolate too. For lunch and dinner there is a huge amount of food to pick from! Fresh bread and pizzas are made right infront of you. And there are always chips or some form of potatoes which were always really nice! There was rice and spaghetti bolognese also. There was also various tunisian dishes which were very tasty!! I would advise you to try them! There was always a selection of different meats too, steak turkey chicken etc.
The staff were very very friendly! They could not have been any nicer to us. The maids were fantastic and always made designs with the bedclothes, such as swans or flowers or other patterns. The waiters were extremely nice ! The bar staff were exceptional, always smiling and saying hello and having a chat. All staff were very welcoming. The entertainment staff were amazing. Very friendly and nice. We made very good friends with a few of them! they took us out and showed us round Sousse at night. The staff from the shops in the hotel are just lovely. We were always chatting away to them. The man who owns the leather jacket shop was so nice. Very welcoming and helpful and when my boyfriend had a sore stomach , he went to get us medicine for it. All of the staff were lovely!
We did a few trips. The pirate ship was good, very good for kids! We booked it through the man in the hotel next to the pool, Ahmed, he was lovely! The Sahara trip was amazing. Excellent value for money. We booked that through Thomson and we would definitely recommend it. It was incredible! I would recommend a visit to the Medina, nice to see! Its fun to haggle also. Of course the shopworkers were all trying to get you in the shop but they just want you to buy some stuff. If you say no then they are fine. We had a lovely trip. Also Port El Kantoui is worth a visit. Very nice.
The beach was lovely! Very nice. The reviews that i read on here before said you had to cross a dual carriageway to get to it.. In actual fact its a one way street. There were a few cars but they always stop and let you cross. There is a beach bar too and if you are all inclusive you get free pizzas and sandwiches. there are toilets on the beach which are good too!
The tunisian people are soo friendly and they have a really good sense of humour too!
The weather was fab the full time.
We are definitely going back to Sousse and would love to stay in the Tej Marhaba again. We encountered no muggings or any trouble at all. We felt very safe and cant wait to go back. Would definitely recommend this destination! We met loads of really nice couples there and had such a nice holiday! Do not trust the bad reviews.
