If it's your first time to Dubai, you'll think this hotel is awesome. It's beautifully decorated and brand new and the food is truly superb.

BUT if you've been to Dubai before, especially if you 've booked club, you'll find that the service just isn't what you'd expect. It lacks finesse, they make mistakes and there are no individual touches that you see everywhere else in dubai. They forgot to book our transfers back from the airport (we ended up in a people carrier), they never called us back when we had queries, they got every room service wrong and on a couple of nights they completely forgot the turn down service. We informed then half way through the trip when we tried to move, they sent a bottle of wine and then carried on making mistakes. We did not see the butler at all.

The hotel has a very urban feel, a real city hotel, a great weekend for a group of well off girls to go for a weekend with the cool bar on the 44th floor and the buddha bar. Not good for families, you just can't get round and you can't walk anywhere and no good for couples as it's too noisy.

Not good if you want to sunbathe. There's a small pool that's shaded all afternoon and the noise from the building work around is mind numbing. We were on the 33rd floor and we could not have our patio door open! This place does not have a holiday feel so if you're looking for that stay at the Mina.

I'd recommend a club room as there's a private lounge where you get free drinks for a few hours in the evening, afternoon tea and breakfast.

We have just returned home from a wonderful few days at the Grosvenor Hotel . We had luxury and were treated like royalty.Me and my wife have visited Dubai on numerous occasions but felt this was our best visit .Weboth enjoyed Buddas Bar and Indego was very special. We took some family friends who were blown away with the city and all its splendour. We met a very famous celebrity in Bar 44 . We all would return to Dubai tommorrow given half the chance .One of our friends had sore feet from all the walking but this did not seem to matter . Dubai marina is fab and would like to live there one day.

I don't need to go into everything about this Hotel; it's all been said before. The service is impeccable nothing is ever an issue and they are genuinely trying to anticipate your needs at all time.

The food is amazing, Buddha Bar is certainly a must but you need to book a couple of days in advance as it is always busy. I would also recommend a club room with access to 44 club lounge. Dubai is a wee bit pricey and you get 2 hours of free drinks and canapés with the club room which covered the extra we paid for it many times over.

Dubai is undergoing a lot of change right now so everywhere you look there is building work going on. To me it was amazing to see the birth of a city and I am looking forward to going back and watching it progress, to others I guess they might find the noise and activity annoying.

My last tips are, don’t go on the river cruise, there isn't much to see and the food is a huge let down but do go on the Dune Safari run by Arabian Adventures it is excellent. Also for a really pleasant place to go and have a drink try bar 360, go to the Jumaria Beach Hotel and ask for it, they will drive you out to it.

“not what we expected.”

booked after reading the reviews on trip advisor for four nights but flew home after two.

The hotel is lovely inside, but not being able to go to any area that is non smoking (people smoking walking around etc) and not being able to go anywhere in Dubai on foot from the hotel, it is a 24/7 noisy building site!

The staff efficient/polite.

Am I missing something about Dubai? shopping ok but I can do that anywhere, not that cheap either. I found Dubai "manufactured" and without a soul.

“Fantastic Rooms; Buddha Bar is a Must”

July isn't the best time of year to go to Dubai, but my wife and I were looking for a weekend away from Doha. We booked a room at GH, and when they found out it was our anniversary, they upgraded us to a better room/small suite. I don't know if I have stayed in a better room...enormous bathroom, incredibly comfortable bed, two flat screen TVs, all lights/tvs/AC on a remote control. I could go on and on, but you really need to see it for yourself.

Another plus is that the hotel is connected to the famous Buddha Bar Restaurant / Lounge. We had been planning on just doing drinks there (dinner elsewhere), but on the recommendations of several friends, we decided to dinner as well. We were not disappointed, as it was the best dinner of our trip. A bit on the expensive side, but the food was great and the atmosphere more than made up for the cost. If you have drinks upstairs, avoid the champagne cocktails (not much to write home about and very expensive) and instead go straight for the blueberry mojito. A fine beverage...
