“Less than the best”

Vitosha Guest Haus Inn

The rooms lack modern amenities (including TV's), and the facilities are nice but not spectacular. The property has an abundance of in house animals including cats and dogs. The furnishing are pretty, but the beds are small (doubles) and breakfast served was cold. After alerting the owner to an allergy I was still served the food I was allergic to. Instead of taking responsibility, since I had alerted the owner orally and in writing on our breakfast form, she blamed it on the staff (despite the fact that she served it to me) because “they don't speak English well and can not read ingredients”. I've been to several B&B's and this is the only one I wouldn’t return to.

I stayed here this past winter. The rooms are nice, cozy, and very well-furnished and well-decorated. The woman running the place was very nice as well. In keeping with the rather organic feel of the place, there are no TVs in the rooms. Additionally, my room was on the ground floor, but it only had thin lace curtains, which made me feel rather insecure, as I am relatively certain that somebody could see through if they really wanted to. If I returned, I would try to get a room on the second floor.

Vitosha Gues Harus Inn was more than what we expected. The grounds were beautiful and Kei was more than willing to show us around. We met George, a four-legged resident of the house and he one was of the highlights of our stay. We would encourage anyone to stay here.

Vitosha comprises a former church property - with interesting architectural features, out-buildings (including a "tea house"), and courtyard with a pond and small arbor. Rooms vary in size and location--and it is best to make a selection after looking carefully at the pictures at the on-line site. Decor is Central European (which again, is interesting)--with white lace curtains on windows and in bed-hangings, and armoires in numbers of the rooms. Bathrooms can be compact - but are fine in fixtures, etc. A very fine, Central European style breakfast is served, including cheeses, boiled eggs, oatmeal, pastries/toast, and fruits.
