I first visited the Law Quad in 1969, on a trip through Ann Arbor with my father and brother, and the architecture took my breath away. It still does. This area on the southwest corner of the University of Michigan Central Campus has the atmosphere of an old English university, and one almost expects to see a robed Oxford don come wandering out of one of the high, heavy doors with book in hand. Though this is a five-circle review, the Law Quad is still not one of those things you want to drive hundreds of miles to see, but you have missed something important if you pass through Ann Arbor and fail to give this a look, as we did in 1969.
