“I'll Stay Here Again”

Dahlmann Campus Inn

I read the reviews before booking this hotel. As a result, I booked the top floor (premium price) and requested a room facing the back. We had no noise problems whatsoever, and it probably was overkill. Perhaps it is noisier when the University is in session. The city didn't seem very noisy for a city while we were there.

This is a lovely traditional hotel. I especially enjoyed the fountains inside of and outside of the lobby. Self-parking was easy. Our comfortable room was exactly what we requested. I ordered room service for breakfast, and it arrived right on time. I asked for a wake-up call, and it came at the right time. There were no problems with the bill. My impression was that this is a well-run hotel that should meet or exceed most expectations.

The decor is traditional, so those who like edgy will be disappointed. Our bathroom was a little dated but fully functional and clean.

The Campus Inn is located very close to campus so staying there is very efficient. However, this past stay at the Campus Inn, my ipod was stolen from my room. Beware of this problem when you are staying there.

We are pleased that the guest liked our location and that her stay was efficient. We did receive a report of a lost I-Pod; the guest was part of a large party staying at the hotel for a wedding. She asked us to check several rooms, unfortunately we were unable to locate the item and the two I-Pods that are in our lost & found collection were found prior to this guests stay.

We stayed on night over the weekend and the stay was good. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. The whole hotel decor was a very nice dark wood trim. Someone else mentioned that the niose was loud if you had a front room of the hotel. It wasn't bad, we had a room on the 10th floor. The restruant food was good for breakfast, didn't get the chance to try it for dinner. Overall our stay was pleasant.

I stayed at the Campus Inn for one Saturday night. The Inn is well located and has an attractive interior. Rooms are well decorated and clean. My problem was with the noise level. If you are on the front of the building, Huron Avenue runs right under your window. I was on the sixth floor, and yet I still listened to every car, motorcycle, ambulance, and conversation that ran past the hotel. I was wakened at 1:00 am by shouting and screaming in the hall, and I was able to hear that group continue their party on the sidewalk outside. So book your rooms in the back of the building, or stay at the Bell Tower or Four Points.

We are always willing to honor guest requests and happy to assign a room on the north side of the building. Away from traffic noise these rooms have a wonderful view of the Huron river valley.

The Campus Inn is in a convenient section of downtown ann arbor within walking distance to all the shops, eating establishments, college quad etc.It is more expensive than many of the alternatives although it is in need of room renovations. The place is clean but not spotless.Things look out of date and the carpets in some of the hallways are buckling from age/wear.I would not classify our room as shabby chic, just worn around the edges. The service is pleasant from the bellman to the waitstaff.I wish they would give a little more attention to this hotel because it could be so much better.

In 2007 three corridors have been renovated with rich axminster carpet complimenting African mahogany wood paneling for a luxurious quality look.
