Booked through the choice hotel site. This was a free stay due to points I'd accumulated through previous stays. Had a room w/ 2 beds and a sofa sleeper. I'd requested a rollaway also. I arrived very late and upon check-in was told there would be a charge for a rollaway. While I understand this to be correct for a regular booking, this was supposed to be a free night. I said to forget the rollaway if I was going to be charged. Got to the room. It was very large. First thing we noticed was a huge spider in the tub. Yuck. Everything was old in the room and in bad need of an update. The tile area was grungy, as I read in a previous review. Probably an accumulation of the last 30 years, as it looks like it would take more than elbow grease to clean it up. Went to make up the sofa sleeper and there wasn't any extra sheets, blankets, or pillows in the room for it. Went back to the front desk. Clerk ended up bringing a rollaway instead of the blankets and said he'd wouldn't charge for it. Probably the best part of the stay. Mattresses were thin and uncomfortable. It was a very hot night so we cranked the air conditioner (an antique) . We were still hot in the morning. Only a couple of towels in the room. I do understand the place has new owners and they're planning on renovations. This much has been added to Trip Advisor reviews and posted in the hotel by the management. At this time though, the was things are, I wouldn't recommend staying here. You could do better.
