I stayed at the Bopha Angkor in September 2006- it was wonderful! It is close to the main street through Siem Reap, far away from the obnoxiously large hotels. The staff were very attentive, helpful and kind. They will help you hire a tuk tuk driver and tour guide for the temples, ride to the airport, what ever you need. The rooms are comfortable, nicely decorated. The restaurant was fabulous! Beautiful presentation and excellent Khmer cuisine. Also, the Khmer massage is well worth the $12 USD!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

We stayed for 4 nights around Khmer New Year and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel for the price (we paid US$46 for a superior room including breakfast).

After an initial miscommunication about our booking, which didn't go down well after a 8 hour road trip from Bangkok, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms and common areas are decorated in a way that makes you feel like you are in Cambodia, but doesn't leave you wanting for comfort. And the pool makes it more than just a place to sleep at night.

Rooms aren't the most private as most windows look onto common areas and walkways, but are tinted and there are curtains. It didn't really bother us.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the restaurant/bar area of Siem Reap but also has a very nice restaurant of its own. Breakfast wasn't buffet but was substantial enough and very good quality.

During our time in Siem Reap we also had dinner at the Raffles, which was a stunning hotel, but you could have been in a Raffles anywhere, it didn't feel like Cambodia.

“Quiet Oasis of calm”

We stayed in a deluxe room with pool view. It was lovely. The hotel has charm and the gardens and pool beautiful to relax in after the heat and exhaustion of visitng the temples.

Its situation - 10 mins walk to the french quater and old and new markets is perfect. Ate in the hotel one night and food lovely but excellent resturants and bars in which to unwind are best found in the french part of town.

If you want 5 star service and corporate luxury do not come here but if you want to feel you are visiting Cambodia and want a lovely setting in the town I would recommend this to you.

Tip - do not drink the tea at breakfast it is horrible.

If we go back back to Siem Reap we would not hesitate to use this hotel rather than one of the big brash corporate hotels on what is rapidly turning onto Cambodias version of international drive in Orlando

“An ok hotel after we changed rooms”

My family (5 adults) spent 3 nights at the Bopha Angkor in early April. I changed rooms once and my mom changed rooms twice due to various problems with the rooms. My first room had a weak A/C, the door didn’t open all the way, the room was dark, the bathroom tiny, and the shower head was only chest-high. My sister's room had none of these issues and she liked her room a lot. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful when we asked for different rooms.

The Bopha Angkor includes a nice breakfast with their rooms. They offer a western style breakfast with eggs, fruit, and baguette, or Asian style with noodle soup and fruit. We had dinner at the hotel on two nights, mainly because we were too tired to venture out. The food was good, although the food and especially the drinks seemed pricey compared to other restaurants. The third night, we found several good restaurant choices in the Old Market area. The Old Market (shops, restaurants, bars, etc.) is only a short distance away - about a 10 min. walk. Or you can take a tuk tuk for $1 (they initially asked for $2, but $1 is the going rate, so we bargained).

I would consider staying at the Bopha Angkor again. It wasn't so exceptional that I'd go back without researching other options, but for the price ($53/nt) it was fine after we got our room issues sorted out.

We spent 3 nights at the Bopha Angkor Hotel and booked it due to the consistent lovely reviews on this site and other websites. The hotel is unique in that it is set in a beautiful garden! The rooms are clean, and yes it is showing signs of wear but it's Cambodia! Where it is hot and humid all the time!! Buildings wear out faster and there's nothing that can be done about that. The ONLY thing that bothered me about our room was... the bugs. I have a fear of giant cockroaches! They are giant compared to the U.S.! And being set in a luscious garden, the bugs come with it. Mainly just mosquitoes and cockroaches. The mosquitoes nets over the bed helped with the mosquitoes so I never really got bit in the room. I had my husband spray Raid on about 2-3 cockroaches a day in the room... And they only came out at night when it's dark so I slept with a little light on at all times. But that's just me, others may be totally fine with it. Cockroaches are everywhere in Cambodia, no matter how clean the place is. The food was GREAT, probably one of the best in Siemreap. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And we did have a safe
in our room with a lock, so I'm not sure why the other reviewer didn'
have a safe in their room? I found the safe to be a nice add-on because not all hotels in Cambodia have that. The pool was clean and we enjoyed it very much! We had a lovely time. Again, everything was great!! The only thing that may cause me to not return is the cockroaches!! Sorry.
