The rooms are unique from the entrance door, to the way they are named and the bathtub/shower that has water that comes through a stone passageway through the wall. Tastefully and simply decorated. The television was super tiny, if that's of any concern to you as a traveler, not us, we were just surprised, given the price tag. The grounds are nice, the back entrance where you check in is probably not the greatest representation of the hotel. Street side near their restaurant is the picture featured on their website. The view across the way is a murky moat or river, never actually did find out. The one complaint I'd have about the room is that there is no privacy at all in the bathroom. It is a large/long louvered sliding door, so if you're a new couple, this could be problematic for some I'm sure. My friend and I would simply sit out on the little alcove outside of our room while the other had to utilize the restroom. They have safes and their spa is very nice, a little pricey for the area, but not horrible and I'd definitely recommend it. Great ambience. The pool is nicely done as well, and it's not too resorty a feel, it's very quaint, and relaxing. I actually really liked the design of the pool. There are a ton of great hotels in the area that are less expensive, but some are just not as well located. The FCC has an ideal location, just off the main strip about 3 blocks removed, so you don't have the city noise, but it's a very easy walk. You have Koulen down the street if you want to take in a very touristy show that offers both traditional Thai dancing and Cambodian dancing. The buffet there is decent enough, not fabulous, but good. You're a short walk from the Night Market as well. One recommendation, be sure to bring your insect repellant, many mosquitoes in this vicinity. The FCC makes it easy to access the city and a market is super close to purchase bottled water and snacks for next to nothing and a carton of Ara cigarettes go for $5.20, yes a carton. Not that I'm a smoker, but if you are, I was just floored. Isn't that the price of a pack? It is also an easy location to see the Angkor area...be sure to see Ta Prohm and Angkor Thom, I found both far more impressive than Angkor Wat. Yes you read correctly.
