We read some reviews on Tripadvisor and then visited the hotel's website. It looked like a great hotel, but more than what we budgeted based on its quoted rates on its website ($45). We checked it out on hotels.com and the price was much better at around $32 (including taxes etc.) When we arrived, it was WAY better than our expectations. Modern finishes, clean common areas and rooms, and accomodating friendly staff. Excellent value for the price we paid. The bathroom was great- and even had toothbrushes, combs, shampoo, etc. available for our use. Laundry service was same-day, but a little pricey a $11 for a small load. The restaurant had excellent Indian food (it was my first time eating Indian food- I'm a hamburger kind of guy) - if you've never had it, this is a good place to try it.
Lastly, our ride to the bus terminal was 30 minutes late and I was standing around in the lobby looking like a sourpuss and the conceirge gave us a free lift to the bus.
I highly recommend this hotel in Siem Reap.

“Spacious rooms”

A nice hotel about ten minutes walk from the central bar district. Rooms are spacious and well appointed, some with river views. Breakfast is served on the roof, on an outdoor terrace if that's your preference. Choices are the standard egg and bacon with juice, coffee and fruit or Indian dosas. The rooftop restaurant also serves pretty good Indian food in the evening, ask if you like it spicy as they blanded it down on our visit.
The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a small pool available. Internet access is available in the lobby and there's also a small bar there which seems to close when the last customer leaves.
I'd stay there again.

“Maybe the best value in town”

Claremont Angkor Hotel

Great Location, quite (except for the mosque), yet near the action. Excellent, attentive service. Spacious, clean rooms. Some of the rooms have a river view (must request) others rooms have a view of a brick wall. For Siem Reap, the price is very good.

There is a 6th floor restaurant with a terrace. The breakfast is adequate and the view of the river is a nice wake up. The restaurants lunch or dinner is good, but a twice as expensive, with half the food, as the three good restaurants right around the corner.

The downside (unless you are Muslim) is that hotel is next to a Mosque, so you will hear the prayers through out the day... they start at 5:30 am. Booking online is 50% less than walk up rates. They have Internet access (not WiFi). This is a great 3 Star hotel and I would definitely come again. Paid $38 dbl Jan 08

fdoamericas' review was good to us and we have no complaints at all. However we are not happy about her comments concerning the mosque. There is no mosque any where near the Claremont. I have never seen a mosque in Siem Reap but I believe there is one some long way away. Is she sure that the noise she heard was not a wedding next door? Indeed this can be most annoying but, regrettably, there is nothing we can do about it,it's a local custom that one just has live with!

This hotel is lovely. The rooms are lovely.

There is a pool here and although very small still good for a cool down.

The included breakfast is great - we had bacon and eggs, toast, fruit and juice each morning.

The location is so so. It is about a 10 minute walk to the tourist area which is not so bad except for all the traffic and lack of light at night time. Although a tuk tuk into town is only about $1USD each way.

I'd recommend this hotel although if you could get another hotel for the same price in the main area I'd probably stay there instead.
