Stayed at the Marco Polo for 10 days on business. Booked an Executive Room, but when I arrived I was offered a Suite for $40 USD/night more. Looked at the Executive Room that had a dark worn-out feel, so I accepted the Suite at about $320/night with tax. The Suite was excellent - top floor, lake view, very clean and nicely furnished. However, I was disappointed that I had to pay more to get a decent room.
Breakfast is included, but not much of selection of western food.
The hotel seems more oriented toward Asian travelers.
Business center room is small, smoking permitted so it smells a little like smoke. It is not particularly inviting as a place to sit and work. Does have a good size conference room.
Staff is all very friendly. It's a quiet location and looks out on a large lake with the city in the background - very nice. Coffee shop (owned by James an Australian) and Italian restaurant across the street are very good. Health center is very nice, but the outdoor pool seems in need of a little remodel.
The Suite is normally about $500USD/night, so if you can get it for $320 or so it is OK. However, as a business traveler and for budget reasons, I would first look at room availability at the other newer hotels. They seem to have nicer rooms at the lower price levels (around $200USD/night) and also higher quality dining.
