Visited this hotel in October and meant to post this review before now.
We really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel really welcome by the staff, particularly those at the terrace lounge.
Good points:
Staff were very great. The pool and grounds are immaculate. The room (we stayed in a junior suite) was large and pleasantly furnished, although not any better than standard rooms in the carribean we have stayed in.
Bad points:
If you want to go for a culinary experince don't go here! The food is of a good standard, but there is only TWO restaurants and they were packed like sardines. We often had to sit beside others we did not know or could speak to due to language difficulties.
One ponit about the location of the hotel that we were pleasantly surprised about was that it is very central and you can walk along the pedestrianised area to lots of shops with ease.
The Italian just outside the hotel does serve fabulous piazas, very cheaply and the bar next door shows lots of football. You have to pay for the beer though but less than £2 per pint.
I would definitely go again because it is very good value for money. The transfer from the airport is also great at about 20 minutes.

Spent 2 weeks at Siva in August this year with husband daughter of 15 and son of 12. Overall a fabulous fortnight, rooms fine, cleaned and looked after well by the staff especially if you look after them! Only downfall was daughter taken to hospital due to gastroenteritis but must say the hotel doctor was fab and the clinic - you get better and quicker treatment there than you would here!! Best beach we have ever seen with warm waters to die for this made the holiday so relaxing as the pool can get a little busy and you do have to reserve beds so no good if your not an early riser! Sunbeds on the beach you can get anytime but watch the sand - it gets so hot!! Food was very good you can have a different dish for each night of a two week stay and we never had to queue for a table. The waiters however can be a nuisance as we found having a 15 year old who looks older and what they thought was marrying age - in the end she became really fed up of all the attention. However we made many new German friends that made our holiday. Overall a brill two weeks highly recommended and ideal for families.

It was a really beautiful resort! The beach was sandy but it was too cold to swim in December. However, the pool was amazing and there was a bar in the pool. Very large pool!!

We went for a walk around the resort at night - really beutiful with all the lights

The room was spacious and beutifully decorated with a balcony overlooking the beach.

The food was also great but quite traditional.

We had problems with the staff as they accused us of opening a $10 bottle of water in our room. We said we never even touched the stuff in the fridge.

Other than that, it was a really great Resort!

Just got back late on friday 17th november 2006, having spent 2 weeks at the Siva Grand Beach with my wife and 4 year old daughter, we were booked into a junior suite which was big and spacious and had a great view over the swimming pool. there was also loads of sunbeds to choose from every morning. the food was a bit repetive but was all freshly cooked and lots of choice, we mostly had breakfast and evening meals at the amar restaurant on the upper floor and had snacks at the pool bar, the service in the hotel was first class and the people couldn't do a enough for you. We went on two trips one to luxor and one to cairo. We booked the luxor trip with out tour operator and decided to do the overnight trip which was brilliant, we were picked up at 0445hrs and transferred by luxury coach convoy to Luxor where we saw all the top sights and had a great guide (if you have the same guide he was called Mahmoud can you say hello to him from my 4 year old daughter Rosie who he made a big fuss of) the hotel we stayed in luxor was very pleasant and i highly recommend the overnight trip as it is more relaxed than the one day trip. On the cairo trip we booked up with JEDDAH TOURS and flew to Cairo this trip was again brilliant and i would recommend booking with these instead of the tour operators as the price comparison is amazing we saved over £250 by going with JEDDAH TOURS, we were collected by private car from hotel and taken to airport and when we arrived at Cairo we were met by our own guide and driver and again shown all the sights. to find JEDDAH TOURS you need to turn right when you leave the hotel and its situated next to pizza hut and kfc approx 10 minute walk. To find THE HARD ROCK CAFE you need to turn left out of the hotel and is approx 20 minute walk away and the food is great and very cheap, you will be pestered by shopkeepers trying to get you into their shops but just say no thank you and keep walking. The facility at the hotel were brilliant and the pool was massive and heated, the poolside bar allows you to help yourself to beer, wine and soft drinks. The evening entertainment wasn't too bad. I would advise changing your money from English to Egyptian when you arrive at the hotel as the rate is better in Egypt than in England. All in all the holiday was brilliant and i highly recommend the Siva Grand Beach

We have just returned from our 2 weeks in Egypt. We had a week on the nile and a week at the Grand Siva Beach

Grand Siva Beach - we spent our second week here. The hotel is lovely. We had
a junior suite which was very big and a had nice sea view. The room has a
fridge and a safety deposit box which you don't have to pay for.

The outside of the hotel was the best that I have seen. There are so many
sunbeds that despite the hotel being 80% full of Germans, there was still a bed
in the sun with an umberella for us at 10am.

There are plenty of restaurants in the hotel, however the food is much better
during the day and has much more choice. There are 2 restaurants serving dinner
in an evening but the both serve the same food which is aimed at the German
contingency in the hotel. We ended up eating out.

I can recommend the Hard Rock Cafe. We had been tipped off that the portions
are huge so we shared a starter of potato skins and a large plate turned up with
6-8 skins on it. We both had chicken for our main course and had 2 drinks each
and the bill only came to £18GBP.

The Pizza restaurant just outside the hotel was very good too and exceptionally
reasonable.

During our week at the Siva we paid to fly to Cairo using JEDDAH TOURS. Turn
right outside the of the hotel and it is next to pizza hut. The trip was
absolutely excellent and very reasonably priced. As there were 6 of us we were
charged £115. Much cheaper than the £200 airtours wanted to charge us. The
trip was very well organised and we had a huge airconditioned bus and an english
speaking guide who took us where ever we wished to go. This was all just for
us, there were no other tourists crammed into the bus, just us 6.

Hurghada was as we expected, during the day it was very hot and the sea was
chrystal clear. At night the shop keepers wanted you to go into their shops,
just 'make like a camel' or say no and they are ok.

All in all an enjoyable holiday.
