We've just discovered this wonderfull place last month although we are Egyptians. The place is magnificant. Rooms are cozy and clean. Be carefull of the open buffet otherwise we will gain at least 4 kilos as my husband did. Also try not to mix between different kind of food. Most of the dishes are tasty yet you will suffer from stomak pain. The entertainement is good and children will enjoy it specially if they are dutch. Waiters are very polite but also very exhausted as they work all the day. Don't pay more than 70 pounds if you use the taxi from Hurgada airport (it is only 22 km to the bay). I guarantee you will enjoy it as we did if you come in winter as summer is soooooo hot (38 - 42).

A nice complex but more attention to detail needed

7 Aug 2009 | Trip type: Couples

I stayed here for 9 days and enjoyed my time. The sun was great the complex was nice. However, there were a few things that both my partner and I felt let the resort down.

The room::
Nice and spacious however not very clean. I understand that we were in a desert area and that it is expected to be somewhat dusty however the bedroom floor was never clean. We both had to walk around with shoes on so that our feet were kept relaltively dirt free. The bathroom was nice but the shower was dated and not very pleasant. It wasn't as clean as it could have been and our showerhead broke on the first evening! Although, we were probably just unlucky with this!

Food:
Lots of choice but we both were not very well, although I was particularly careful with what I ate and drank. The pharmacy was brilliant though and the tablets that they provided worked well but it did ruin the first 4/5 days of our trip. My partner likes to eat fruit and there wasn't a great supply of this- melon, oranges and apples.
Breakfast was great- all the things you would normally expect plus they provide a late breakfast from 10:30-12pm. Much smaller choice of things to eat but great if you fancy a lie in and don't want to have to rush for breakfast in the mornings. Staff were very friendly and always polite.

Shops:
I hate haggling!! There are no prices on any of the items in the shops! There is a huge number of shops but they are mostly the same things. I went looking for souvenirs but didn't have the energy to haggle with the shop keeper, I want to buy something and know how much it is without having to work for it! Maybe that's just me! You couldn't walk pasta shop by being called in. Be careful not to fall for the trick of answering the question "where are you from my friend" this is there hook and once you've answered they'll keep you talking! The perfume shops will ask you to come in and write an "advert" for them in your language. My partner was happy to do this but once they realised we weren't interested in what they were selling they were put off and weren't as friendly! There is a mini supermarket on site which sells all your usual juices, snack foods etc.
There is an ATM and HSBC bank on site which is useful.

Excusions:
We were put off by the number of people that approach you, not only on the beach but also by the pool. Henna tattoos, snorkling trips, dolphin trips the list goes on! I completed understand that they need to make a sale but please take no for an answer! We did a snorkling trip which was fantastic. Left at 8:30am with equipment provided by the resort, made 2 stops at different reefs before stopping at "Paradise Island" for over an hour to do more snorkling. The amount of fish we saw and how close they got was amazing. We returned home and stopped at one more large reef on the way back. Lunch was provided on board and we even gave in and purchased the souvenir DVD for €20! The whole trip cost us €35 and was definitely worth it!!
We also took advantage of the shuttle bus that goes into Hurghada town. This only cost €5 per person but we weren'T that impressed with the town. Many of the same shops as in the complex but there was a water park that I expect would make a good day trip if you took the morning bus and came back on the evening one.

Overall:
Don't get me wrong, we both enjoyed ourselves. The sun and sea is enough to do that but we just felt that there were a few things that were lacking and that this was perhaps why it had missed out on it's 5th star. Once we overcame our upset stomachs we were both able to enjoy the time more, it was just a shame that it took us the first 4 days of our holiday for this to happen. The beach has quite a few small stones and shells as you walk into the sea so I would recommend taking some water shoes with you then you'll be able to walk in and out of the water freely!

Stayed here Nov. of '07. Service was excellent, rooms well laid out, bathrooms a little scummy for me, food was plentiful but not very good. Drinks were plentiful but alcohol not good quality. TUI staff was excellent, very helpful. Resort is actually part of 5 hotels all run by same company. Best thing was we figured out after a few days the schedule of animation at the different hotels, ours was the worst, but it was possible to hit all or part of the shows at 3-4 hotels in a night. Kids loved it. Best animation was closer to the water hotels, run by Egyptian animators, snake charmers, whirling dervishes, dancers, really excellent. Our hotel team was Germans, I'm sorry Germans are just not funny people.
Beach was a little far from our property, not so for some of the others. Sand was dirty and a little rocky, not too attractive really. Diving was said to be very good though.
Loved the place, many large pools, worst thing was location, kind of in the middle of the desert, only shops were those surrounding the property, 60-70 of them but basically the same 2 or 3 concepts over and over again.
Grounds were exceptionally well kept, staff constantly trimming and cutting and cleaning, very nice.
Would I go back, yes, service was great and animation possibilities also the best.

This hotel is within a larger complex which includes four or five other hotels. You can wander around between them all but your all inclusive food and drink provision is not transferable betwen hotels. We had a comfortable room near to the reception and restaurant and close to the main large pool. The grounds are very attractive and well maintained. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The food is good and even the house red wine is fine. However mid-week we did get a major tummy bug from eating fish during a BBQ evening. The chef used the same tongs to handle raw and cooked fish - so watch out. It took us three weeks to fully recover!
The large pool is lovely with plenty of space around the pool for sunbathing. There is a completely separate smaller pool for children. Sometimes loud music and pool games occur around the pool - we tend not to like this sort of thing but it was not too disturbing. Near the pool is a bar with tasty snacks served all day. The restaurant is open for lunch too.
It's just a short walk (few mins) to the beach but we didn't like it there. The sand was crammed with with sunbeds and windbreakers. However, each hotel in the complex had it's own section of the beach - the more expensive hotels had more space between their sunbeds.
It wasn't worth snorkelling from the beach - there was nothing to see, plus you couldn't see much beyond your hand anyway - very silty. This was my main disappointment as the previous year I'd been to Sharm where the water was clear and full of fish...great for a novice snorkeller.
The complex has a lovely spa which we used for a pamper half day. Very relaxing. The complex also had a shopping and restaurant area for use by all hotels. Some evenings there was pleasant entertainment - shows for kids early on (8pm) then music/dancing from 9.30ish. On the few nights per week with nothing on the hotel bill, we went to watch belly dancing etc at the other hotels on the complex. So ther was something every night if that's what you wanted.
The hotel complex has a mini-train to take you around the site and provides a free bus into Hurgada. I can't say much about Hurgada as we just visited one evening to do a little shopping. Overall very enjoyable.
