The hotel overlooks the Red Sea but the lead up to the hotel takes you through a very generic dusty/sandy town in the Sinai. Most of the Sinai features nice beatches and coral reefs though it doesn't seem as though Egypt has really put alot into improving tourist facilities there since Israel gave them the Sinai for a peace deal.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you are looking to be by yourself and just want to sit in the sun. The suites were not comfortable and after confirming over the phone the price in dollars, I wasn't allowed to pay with dollars and forced to convert them at a small change place next to the hotel that seemed to have a deal with them.

The suite was not clean and very dated. The bathroom was also a bit uncomfortable and uninviting.

The hotel does feature great beach facilities and watersports. If memory serves me right, the hotel is all inclusive and meals were part of the deal. Most hotels in the Sinai are very cheap in comparison to Europe.

My partner and i enjoyed two fantastic weeks at the HIlton.

Upon arrival, after a somewhat lengthy transfer from Taba airport, we were warmly welcomed with a choice of refreshing beverages whilst our luggage was taken to our room by the Porter. As it was close to midnight we decided to head straight back to the room where a small basket of fruit and sandwiches was waiting for us. This was a welcome gesture as the hotel's restaurants were closed.

The room was comfortable but basic, the bathroom was a reasonable size with double shower. The air conditioning was quite loud but worked well and was definately needed! However, as soon as you turned it off the temperature of the room rose rapidly, so it needed to be left on at night to sleep.TIP! Ask reception for a second key which can be left in the room to ensure you can leave the air conditioning on at all times!
The room did have a sea view but this was impaired by the beautiful gardens and beach area.

The food was, on the whole, excellant. Breakfast was a feast! Fresh bread, omelettes, pastries, fruit and cereals were all available as well as a choice of hot meals. Lunch and Dinner were both buffets with Dinner including a barbeque choice every night. My partner particularly enjoyed the chicken and lamb kebabs along with the fresh calimari. Dinner did become a little repetitive, so a trip to the Italian round the corner from the main restaurant was a welcome break, and was included in the AI package. The Italian had a wide choice of pasta and delicious freshly made pizza.

We dined in the Abu Lou Lou, the a la carte restaurant, for our anniversary and were amazed by the great value for money we recieved. We feasted on a variety of mouthwatering seafoods, and after the 40 egyptian pounds discount for being AI customers our bill came to a total of £14!!! (That's 2 LARGE courses each and two rounds of drinks!!!)

Prior to the trip, i was concerned that there would be little for me to eat, as i am on a restricted diet. However, this worry was dispelled on arrival with a variety of foods being made available to me, such as an amazing beef casserole, various chicken dishes and different seafood everyday, fresh vegetables and the widest variety of potatoes i have ever seen! Neither my partner or i were ill throughout the entire stay, and this is definately due to being sensible in the sun and drinking lots of water.

The surroundings of the hotel are kept immaculately, with staff tending them for at least 12 hours a day! The beach is beautifully sandy, though it is adviseable to take beach shoes as the sand gets very hot and a bit coarse at the shore. We spent alot of time around the smaller pool, and found that for the majority of the stay we were the only ones there as most guests preferred the larger pool (popular with families) or the beach as they both had refreshment facilities on hand.

TIPS:
1. Change a small amount of Sterling into Egyptian pounds on arrival at the complex (You will not need more than £50 for a 2 week stay!)

2. Beware of organised excursions! We booked a 'VIP' cruise through Thomson at a cost of £100 per couple. For this price we were promised a butler, luxury bbq, open bar and total relaxation. In reality we endured a gruelling transfer through the mountains to a boat moored just outside Taba. Although the boat was lovely, the day turned out to be nothing more than an extremely hectic snorkelling trip where only the more competant snorkellers felt at ease. There was no bbq as promised, but rather a few plates of rice and some worringly luke-warm plates of fish. There was no alchohol on board, which although understandable given the nature of the trip, was promised to us by our tour rep. Instead we recieved a couple of bottles of warm coke and a glass of water ALL DAY!!!
We had booked to go on another excursion with Thomson, though after this experience decided to cancel. Needless to say, we are currently seekign a refund for the excursions, as it was total false advertising and very disappointing.

3. Drink the soft drinks and water that are provided in the min-bar fridge daily, as these will get replaced (We didnt realise this for a few days-they are included in the AI package so use them!!!)

All in all, there is much, much more we could talk about at the HIlton Nuwieba, however the best thing to do is for you to experience it for yourself. We had a fantastic time, total relaxation and perfect weather. This is NOT a place for children, as it is too hot and there is little for them to do, so please be warned!

Just returned from a one week stay at the hotel, the hotel itself was set in beautiful well kept gardens and spaciously laid out. The beach also was very nice and also very spacious. Staff were on the whole more than helpful and very polite. The room was clean but basic and slightly tired looking with many utilities on their last legs. The food was poor with buffets being laid out for lunch and then used again for dinner, half of which was only moderately warm, the Abu Lou Lou restaurant being a better alternative, although not convinced that the food hygiene was up to much throughout the hotel after both suffering travellers sickness during the stay. The entertainment was extremely poor with the same singer each night singing the same songs who's voice was quite impressively irritating. Value for money wise it was excellent and we enjoyed it alot, although the Hilton Nuwieba most certainly is not a luxury hotel it may claim to be it has its good points and if you are not to fussy and looking for a cheap holiday it would be a good choice compared with other alternatives in the price range.

“Wow! 11-25 June 2007”

We have just spent two fabulous weeks at this wonderful hotel. Everything about the place was so calm and relaxing. The level of genuine attentiveness and service was first rate, the place is spotless and gardens and beach make the place a peaceful oasis. There was a very wide choice of food to suit everyone and we couldn't fault any aspect of our stay. Some people we spoke to were there for their 10th visit, so it can't be bad.

Yes it's in the middle of nowhere, but if you just want to spend 2 weeks doing very little other than relaxing, diving and being waited on, then this is the place to go. Also, as it's a quiet resort with no intention of becoming another Sharm, it's not over-run with stag/hen parties, drunks and teenagers. the entertainment is low key, but suits the ambience of the place. You must see The Spinning Man!

We went on 3 organised trips, but I would warn people to avoid the Dahab Shopping Day as it's just a w ay of getting you into a shop for a perfume and jewelllery presentation and hard-sell, plus the 'shops' at Dahab have nothing worth making the effort to see. BUT - Dahab is an excellent diving resort.

The day trip to Jerusalem, whilst tiring is an absolute must, the guide was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it, also the trip to Massada and The Dea Sea.

We are hoping to go back in September and definitely next June.

“Sun and Sand and Drinks”

Two oldies stayed here for two weeks which for us was a week too long. I agree with everyone else regarding the cleanliness, the helpful and friendly staff and the remarks about the food. When we went all three restaurants were open and we tried them all at least twice. Just words of caution, we went with Panorama. We had already stayed in Aqaba and done Jordan etc. so the only trip we did was the half day to the place halfway to Sharm - I've forgotten it already- and the onsite rep, (Mohammed what else?), not only has his own little fiddle when you pay by changing the sterling quoted price into Egyptian pounds at his special rate which costs you another £3 or £4 pounds but the first stop is at a jewelry store and then at a perfume factory all of which takes up nearly two hours of your time. At the resort you do get a meal and when he said he would pick up the six of us up at 4 o'clock we agreed that he should make it 3 o'clock as there is nothing there to speak of.

The hotel is great but as you will know before you book, in the middle of nowhere. The bar staff were also top notch and I have no complaints.
