Just returned from Sharm 24/07/2008. Stayed at Concorde El Salam Sport Hotel. Found Hotel to be good 4 star. Spotlessly Clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Pool area great. Activities a little hit and miss and could use more information facilities. We had family room with 3 good beds and ample room, again clean but bathroom rather small and tired. Food is ok and a fair variety. Snorkel trip from Namaa bit of a flop, too much time travelling on boat and sea life not very good. Had much better in Caribean.

We stayed at the Concord from 7th July 2008 - 21st July 2008
We really enjoyed it apart from a few niggly things:

We booked a trip to Jordan with Fiona the rep who advised we would be sent a fax with time of departure, she then moved to another hotel so asked the new rep who did not care a bit that we hadnt been notified she shrugged and said go to the reception at 8 pm if no luck your have to ring the Thomas Cook office ourselves charming , luckily I had called the travel company earlier who advised of the time. The reps are quick enough to get your hard earned cash BUT if things go wrong they just dont care.

When changing money in the hotel you need to take brand new notes, they then exchange it for raggy old things, then when you ask to change a 50 E£ that they gave you the day before they say they cannot change it as its ripped but to take it to the supermarket to change!!

Koral Blue airlines who we flew with its the most disgusting plane we have ever been on it was filthy,

The entertainment at night is just awful, you have a choice of the 'live band' who plug in ipods doh or you get serenaded by an out of tune piano player who tends to play christmas carols.... and then the violin player this squeaking noise used to set my teeth on edge. So take a pack of cards to amuse yourselves.

The AI is not quite true everything is by the glass and shuts at 11pm on the dot, they will then charge £3+ for a glass of beer if after 11pm, you do have to keep tipping the waiters then you do get good service.

Word of warning many people were ill and they had all been in the pool I never ever saw it being cleaned so stick to the sea

We have just returned from our 1 week stay in this hotel and have to say no complaints. We arrived at 11pm and the hotel had prepared a cold buffet for us, and also gave us a couple of free drinks even though the all inclusive had finished.

We stayed in the sports area which in my opinion was better than the main area by far! The main areas resturant is abit nicer but other than that the sport is better it isnt as crowded, you get served straight away at the bar there are approx 2000 rooms at the sport and approx 6000 rooms in the main so as you can imagine it is considerably busier in the main. If you want to go to the main it is a 10min walk or there is the bus which we often used as we went to the beach nearly everyday. The layout of the sport is much nicer as the rooms are in a big circle with the pool etc in the middle.

The entertainment is a bit crap but that is in both parts of the hotel we did laugh as they had the same couple singing every night!! So instead we just stayed in the piano bar and chatted with the music in the background.

The food was very good cosidering it is a buffet, there was a good variation. If you only eat plain english food and never try anything ever you would find it very boring but if you are like us and try different meals there was approx 6 different meat meals, several vegtable options, soup, breads and then pasta salads etc, there is no complaints there!

The staff in every part of the hotel are great we had a good laugh and they looked after us all week without a tip! Even when we did tip a couple of waiters it made no difference they still looked after us the same! The rooms and all areas of the hotel are kept very clean and up to date.

There was building work in the next hotel which I only noticed on the 3rd day as i went back to the room at dinnertime if I had not I would not have known and you do not notice the planes usless you stand on the main road watching for them! I think other reports of the noise being too much are people who have very keen hearing or are just wanting to moan.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing all inclusive break whilst staying inside the hotel walls. We have stayed in varius hotels from 2* hotels in goa up to super luxury of a suite in the Venezia Tower in the Venetion Las Vegas and the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.
I would say this is about 4* really, definatley worth a visit. Any more questions please ask.

Firstly we stayed in the sports complex, however we did book the main hotel, when we mentioned this to thomas cook they said we had to pay an extra supplement, even though we paid £50 more per person to stay in the main hotel compared to the sport at the time of booking. This seemed to happen a lot with other thomas cook customers not sure about other tour operators so if you did book with thomas cook i would check with them before you leave as you may well end up in the sport complex.

After checking out both sides there didnt seem to be much differance other than the the main hotel is on the beach and the sports hotel seemed quieter.

The hotel was very clean, had the room cleaned everyday by the maid and the room was nice. You do need to be up early to get a sun bed as by 10ish there were none left, even though some people would hardly use there sunbed all day.

The problem with the hotel is the all inclusive, there are too many ifs and buts with what is included, such as ice cream is included in the day but not at night, only beer, wine and local spirits are included, you have to pay for cocktails £2.50, juices £2, and drinks such a named spirts for example £6 for a malibu and coke, also water is free but if you want a bottle you pay £1 even though it comes from the same bottle. There is no mini bar enless you pay, and you have to pay after 11pm at the bar which is annoying. Also there is only 1 small bar in the sport side at night and it can get a little busy could do with another bar.

The food was good, however did get very repetative after 2 weeks and the food a lunch time is the same as at night, also they charge you to have ice cream, and if you want to take food away eg fruit or cakes. The service could be better in the resturant sometimes we got a drinks quick other times we didnt even get asked if we wanted a drink. The resturant did seem to get busy round 8ish in the second week of our holiday, possible due to the start of the school holidays starting. One thing i could not get my head round was the queueing for a plate and food, us english will queue for the buffet from one end and half the buffet will be empty. Normally people just get a plate and go to the areas they want to get there food from but here people just seemed to queue (but thats us english we love to queue for everything even when it isnt needed). Also the food is only served between 7-1030, 1300-1500 and 1900-2200, if you miss these times you will have to wait or pay for room service.

I didnt get ill while away neither did my girlfriend however some people we spoke to did have upset stomach, so i couldnt say the reason behind this maybe its differant foods.

Over all it was a nice place, however i would proberly try a differant hotel because of the all inclusive thing, iv never known there to be all these differant rules with an all inclusive. When iv been to all inclusives in mexico and cuba everything was included, mini bar, all the resturants, all drinks inc cocktails and branded drinks, and food and drink was 24hours (isnt that the concept of a all inclusive?).
