“Lovely stay”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

5 May 2008

We had a lovely stay at the Hilton Fayrouz at the end of April. We booked on the Hilton website and took advantage of the "stay 6 nights get a 7th free" offer. from Hilton for stays in Egypt (There was a bit of confusion and mis-advice from Hilton customer services as I kept being quoted online for 7 x the nightly rate, not 6 - it turns out the nightly rate already included the discount - but Hilton kindly upgraded my Hilton Honors to silver for my efforts!)

We emailed the hotel before arriving and had a driver waiting for us at the airport (£12). Check-in was as described by others, with refreshing drinks and cold towels. We had a Queen plus room next to the main pool. We were a little disappointed as the area was quite stark and not as nice as in the garden area, but this is where these rooms are, and it was more than comfortable and convenient for an early swim. The room was fine - a bit dated but clean, with the added touch of the famed bed decorations!

Throughout our stay, the service was impeccable - every single member of staff was friendly and attentive. When we mentioned a problem we'd had with a couple of concession-holders at the hotel, a senior manager overheard and insisted on personally accompanying me to sort things out. We were allowed to stay in our room till 3 on the day of departure.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, full of well-tended lawns and flowers. The beach area is huge and again clean and well-tended. Shades are nicely spaced, but because the beach is also used by the sister Hilton Waterfalls, the shades all get reserved by about 8:30 - generous tips didn't seem to give us any advantage there. But once there the beach is beautiful and the swimming and snorkelling an absolute delight. Fish of every size and colour swimming round you. We did go on a boat trip to Tiran, but to be honest, the fish near the hotel were just as good, if not better.

We ate at the beach pizza / grill - fab pizzas for a fiver, Pirate's Bar - good pub grub and cheap beer, beach bar - great snacks, and the main buffet restaurant - plenty of choice, although unexciting. Breakfasts were wonderful. There are loads of restaurants within a short walk along the promenade with a great choice of eating styles.

Overall we had a lovely time at the Hilton Fayrouz, which lived up to all the other reviews on here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

“Great Holiday at Fayrouz”

We booked our holiday with Travel Republic and had no problems. There were 4 adults and one baby aged 11 months. We contacted the hotel prior to going to ask for a hotel plan, and we received this immediately. We were transferred to the hotel efficientrly by car without any waiting (although we did not queue for a visa as we were not leaving Naama Bay).

The hotel was everything everyone else has said. We had great front row rooms which were interconnecting. We were asked each evening if we required extra towels, extra tea and coffee. Every day we received a bottle of water. Also a plus was a free safe.

The staff were very helpful and obliging and we when asked for sliced tomatoes at breakfast, as they tasted so good. From the next breakfast we received a plate of tomatoes each day. You only have to ask for anything.

We went to various restaurants as we were on BB basis. Just be careful of prices before going in, Some restaurants all taxes are included others they are added on. If there is no price outside DONT go in.

The weather was lovely and in our second week the clocks went forward so the days were longer, but still lovely.

We did not get bitten, as usually I do !!, but we used Boots Tropical Insect Repellant. We were also tole about Clarins Red perfume, (which also acts as a repellant) so we also used this.

It's the first time we had been to Sharm, but we look forward to going back.

“Beautiful and relaxing”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

We had a wonderfully relaxing 3-day stay at Hilton Sharm Fayrouz in late March. The grounds are overflowing with beautiful flowers. This was especially nice to soak in while sipping a cool drink on our room's private patio.

We had great service at HSF from arrival to departure, including a complimentary late checkout.

We stayed on B&B basis. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I've ever had. The variety and quality of the food and beverages is outstanding. You must try the strawberry juice!

We ate at the pool bar for lunch and also ate at the Cleo water park . If you have children, or if you just enjoy water parks, check out the Cleo. It is across the street and up the hill from the hotel and is free to all HSF guests. There is almost constant planned entertainment at the waterpark in addition to the numerous rides and wave pool. Be aware....you are not allowed to bring any food or beverages into the water park. That includes water. You can buy plenty inside the water park.

As you go up the hill to the park, you will pass a small store on the left. This in an excellent and cheap place to buy beverages, snacks, etc.

We had a delicious dinner at the Italian buffet at the hotel. Children can eat free or at least 2 for 1.

One caution...there are no REAL ocean front rooms. That means the rooms are not right on the ocean or face the water. The rooms closest to the beach are called ocean front. There is a boardwalk, dining, and wide sandy beach with chairs and umbrella stands between your room and the beach.

We used Sun & Fun for a snorkeling excursion to Ras Mohammed and found them to be excellent. Be advised...if you buy the DVD of the excursion, it will only work on DVD players in certain regions. We are OOL.

Our room was very clean, well stocked, quiet and comfortable. Our bath was plenty large and equipped with hair dryer and more toiletries than normal.

I would gladly return to the HSF if ever I made it back to Sharm and would recommend the HSF without reservation.

When we arrived our room at the Fayrouz it was dark and the initial signs were not good, the little bungalows are getting quite tired now and in particular the bathrooms are overdue a refurb and the aircon was the old noisy type, 5* I thought? You are kidding! Not withstanding this, the room was clean and had all the amenities one might need. In the morning however you can start to appreciate the wonderful location that this hotel affords, we had paid extra for a beachside room and I would recommend this as if you are over the other side the constant beeping of the Egyptians car horns might become annoying. The lush gardens are beutifully tended and the beach is well guarded and immaculate. But what sets this hotel apart is the ever attentive service of the hotel staff, nothing is ever too much trouble and everyone from the manager to the gardener smiles and says hello in perfect English everytime they see you. The food was of exceptional quality every night and they offered a good variety with a different 'theme' every night. Some warned of 'not eating the salad or rice or having ice in your drinks' but I can honestly say this was not an issue in the hotel, the only obvious point is not to drink the tap water. if you do need bottled water however nip round the corner to the little supermarket where it is 25p a bottle rather than the £1.60 the hotle choses to charge! The weather was in the mid 30's every day and we did not see a single cloud for the whole week, if you need a relaxing break with guarenteed sunshine I can heartly recommend the Fayrouz - we will be back.

“Wish I was still there !!”

Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz Resort

I was really impressed with this hotel and literally did not want to come home.

Firstly the location is spot on, it is a short walk from naama bay centre with its own lovely private beach and excursion centre (sun and fun - the guys are brilliant and very trustworthy) we did not have a problem with noise at all during our stay.

The rooms are good to very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms could do with updating and are a bit on the small side but this did not cause us a problem. The mini bar is well stocked and very cheap.

The gardens are gorgeous, you can tell they are very well looked after and all the rooms look out onto gardens, pool or beach.

We were on a B&B basis so did not eat at night but when I go back I will definetly go half board as we did have quite a few problems with the restraunts we ate out at, the food itself was fine but we found all the taxes confusing as most of them added 10% service charge then another 10% sales tax, but it varied at each venue.

We didn't have any problems getting a sunbed by the pools but if you want one on the beach at the front you either need to be there when the beach opens at 7am or tip the beach boys on the first day and they will reserve one as I discovered when I raced down on the 2nd day at 7.30am. We couldn't understand why they never offered to carry our towels to the beds when almost everyone else had them taken and then we were told you have to tip them before they even offer to take towels.

The only major problem we had was on the first night when we discovered our room was infested with ants, after several calls to reception we were promised someone would come to check the room, I thought we would then be moved but instead two men turned up in orange boiler suits and tanks to spray our room which wasn't pleasant as it was a VERY strong smell and my friend has asthma. We then had to sit outside for half an hour until someone else turned up to clean the room, the whole process took around two hours. Had I realised how long it was all going to take I would of insisted on changing rooms so If this happends to anyone else I would just asked to be moved straight away rather than hang around.

Overall I loved this hotel, the location is perfect and all the staff are very friendly especially the guys on the beach. I will definetly go back to this hotel !!!

One more thing there is a waterpark across the road called cleo park and hilton guests have free entrance.
