Just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at the Radisson SAS. To be honest most of the recent reviews on this Hotel have been very negative, so I was pleasantly surprised and need not have had any worries at all.
We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and were upgraded to a Marine Club Room free of charge. The room was spacious clean and bright, very comfortable and almost right on the beach. The guy that cleaned the room every day was top class, always had a smile on his face.
The Hotel grounds are truly magnificent, a lot of care and work goes into maintaining the grounds and it shows!
The beach itself is nothing special the sand is very grainy and you cannot to straight into the sea as it is full of coral and you are forbidden to walk on it. However there is a jetty provided and from there you can snorkel and see the beautiful varieties of fish, truly amazing!
Some reviewers complained about the loud music by the animation team ; I did not find this an issue at all , it was NOT booming out all day. Also, many have complained about the jet noise, again that did not bother me, ok there were a few noisy Russian jets flying over every day and occasionally early in the morning but it was not that annoying as to ruin my holiday.
With regard to the food, were on a bed and breakfast basis and I must say I found the breakfast very good. Lovely fresh orange juice (£1stg extra) , beautiful omelettes, fresh pastries and breads, the selection was endless.
We alternated with the Hotel restaurants and Na'ama Bay, and overall the food was excellent. For a special night out try La Fleur restaurant at the Mövenpick Hotel , outstanding . Use the Hotel taxi, very reasonable and they will pick you up when you are ready to return to the Hotel. We heard of numerous people getting sick in other Hotels while we were there, thankfully we were fine. My wife brought antiseptic hand gel which we used quiet often; the money is absolutely filthy and a big germ carrier.
We varied our holiday by going to Ras Mohammad National Park by boat, fantastic day out , the snorkelling was the best I have ever done; went on a two day trip to Cairo, well worth it , (book it yourself before you depart for Egypt, you will save yourself a fortune!) and finally we went to a Bedouin camp in the desert, a great evening out under the stars!
The hotel put on a Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve (excellent) a Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day (8 course, superb) and a Gala Dinner on New Years Eve. This was truly an outstanding night with the range of food and entertainment second to none. Hats off to the Hotel management team and all the staff for a job well done.
As you can see from the above we really enjoyed our stay in the Radisson and would definitely return without question.( I would NOT go to Sharm in the summer months as it is way too hot ,mid 40s every day, we had glorious weather in late December/ early January mid 20s every day and only one poor day in the two weeks)
They say the Hotel is rated 5 star but I would rate it a very good 4 star. My only complaint is the client mix, 75% Russian and the remainder mostly western European. I really do not know what it is with Russian people but they really do test your patience. Enough said! If you are staying in the Radisson, enjoy it!!!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I spent one week at Radisson sas and we really loved it! The hotel itself is very nice and clean, the surroundings is so relaxing..the sea is absolutely wonderful!!! the moment you dive into it, you forget everything!
The food is just alright..the assortment is not very wide:)
The staff is very friendly and helpful, they are really willing to do everything the guest needs.
Entertainment team..well, they are really nice and very friendly people and we enjoyed their company a lot.however, entertainment itself is quite poor.
Anyway, if you want to have a great night out, just take a taxi to Nabq Bay! we paid just 6 dollars for it and had a fantastic time there!
In general, the hotel is very lovely for a relaxing holidays:)

The Radisson SAS in Sharm is a relatively new resort which covers a wide area between the main road and the sea front (the hotel has its own private beach). The property is close to the airport - great for plane spotters but not so for tourists looking for a zero noise environment.

The predominantly male staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. All of them seem to love children! Tourists come from a variety of countries. However, during the winter months, Eastern Europe dominates - with a fair share of Swiss, Germans and other Europeans. Average quite young for a 5 star resort, quite a few families.

Great gym with good equipment, 3 different saunas, several pools and the usual recreational facilities. Tourists need to know that they can enter the Red Sea only via pier as the entire sea front is one corall reef. But the view you get once you put on your snorkel gear is fantastic.

The buffet food is OK but you get tired of it after a week. Good that they are enough à la carte restaurants in the resort. Even with a full hotel, you dont really have to stand in line for the food. Because of its vast size, you never see big crowds everywhere.

We stayed in the Marine Club rooms, closer to the sea and slightly bigger than the standard rooms. Sea view and a nice garden with enough green grass for kids to play.

Standing out are the nice people woking there and the beautiful landscape and gardens of the resort. Good value for money.

We went for Egypt because we really needed a rest and it was the only place still with good temperatures without going long haul. We stayed at the Radisson SAS in Sharm. How this is confused with the hotel across the road with a different name I don't know?

Firstly we booked half board with Olympic because it states 11 restaurants in the brochure with no suggestion of "local supplements" but reading trip advisor made me ask the question which eventually got answered several days later. The half board is for the main restaurant ONLY or a 25% discount in the other 5(not 10) restaurants. Half board was worth £30 English per day for a couple so to get my £30 pounds worth in the other restaurants we would have had to spend £120 per meal. I obviously cancelled the half board because it had been misrepresented. They then charged me for doing this and gave me less of a discount for the total holiday. When I complained the customer service immediately said I would be refunded both items. Up until we left I still hadn't received these or the half board monies back!

Olympic use Monarch Airways. Please be aware these planes are only suitable for children and very small people. The seats are not suitable for a 5 1/2 flight and should be avoided.

When we arrived we had already booked the marina upgrade. The fruit, wine, coffee making facilites robes and slippers were all there and although probably not worth it are a nice touch. Be aware they are all ground floor on a hill, so you may be able to see the sea but you'll be looking out over the buildings below you, only the rooms at the bottom look directly onto the beach.

Sun beds etc wasn't a problem at any time but it may have been a quiet week because of the time of year?

The rooms are clean and large but are on the verge of looking a little tired.

The food itself is limited and in general poor in the main restaurant but the Italian, pizza are ok whereas the Lebanese and the seafood are pretty good. We didn't try the French. Room service was good.

The cost for a lunch was under £20 with drinks per couple and the meals with say a couple or beers a bottle of wine (stick to the rose) in the other restaurants ranged from £45 to £75 per couple, which considering one night I had a massive plate of sea bass, calamari and huge prawns wasn't bad.

We went on the quads with the snorkling day out and it was brilliant (don't eat the food).

The snorkling itself off the beech of the hotel is worth the money itself for the whole holiday. People would pay a lot more to go and scuba diving holidays and not see what we saw snorkling.

The shop keepers are all pushy but just rudely blanking them like the Russians do to everyone anyway is the most affective approach if you're not intrested. If you are interested offer them half is the rule of thumb. The staff however were extremely friendly and helpful.

In general everyone we spoke to whether it was the Savoy or Hilton all said it was a star below what it was portrayed. Although contrary to the idea of having stars which should be the same the world over I would say it is a 4/5 star for Northern Africa which is not as good as other areas of the globe. The thing to set this against is the price, which is roughly what you would get an average 3 star with a small pool in Greece for.

So, good value for money but manage your expections until you get in the sea and you'll gt your monies worth.
