Our first ever trip to Egypt and i have to say we'd recommend the hotel complex but if you like to leave the hotel and browse the shops its awful......
On arrivial the reception area is very nice and well presented,we ended up paying extra to "upgrade" to another room closer to the main pool area and beach.Otherwise we would of been put in one of the two blocks right near the reception area and overlooking a small garden area and the back of main building.Definatly worth the extra money i think it cost us around £50 for the week.
The room was very nice and clean, some people might say it needs a refurb but in all honestly its really nice and the view from the balcony was great. The air con was fine and did a great job in keeping us cool when need be.
With it being early november the weather hit a top temperature of 24 degrees and didnt get any colder than 22.So it was still very warm the only issue was the pool never got warm, even later on in the day.The days are fairly short and i'd normally get our sunbeds at 7 before we went for breakfast, the sun set around 4;30/5 so after 3 the sunbathing was all over and it was time for a few drinks at the near by pool bar.
We never had any trouble getting a sunbed but if you left it later on in the morning the pool would be full....But if you kept on tipping the poolmen, they would put you 2 towels on the requested beds you wanted thus meaning you could come down when you wanted,we thought this wasnt very fair and there is a big tipping culture going on at the hotel. The guys around the pool were all great and very friendly, they were all wearing these white shell suits with the tops zipped right up because they said it was cold!!......And theirs all the Brits,Germans and Russians all poolside in speedos and bikinis....! Also you are provided with pool towels and dont need to take your own.
The food was good in all the resturants,i thought it was all nice but i did end up with the dreaded upset stomach, this was something i ate and basically wiped me out for one day and it took me around 2 months after we got home to really get myself back to 100%.
The entertainment through the day at the main pool was good and the team really all tried there best, but at night times it was poor and fairly boring.
The beach was nice and clean, the pier was long but it was nice to go out for a walk without any hassle,as said in other reviews you do really need sea shoes which you can buy in the shops for fairly cheap.
There is a few shops in the lobby/reception area and becarefull because some of the guys are very rude/sleezy and a total pain.....Watch out for the photographer we wanted a nice holiday shot or 2 but he takes around 100 pictures and tells you it will only take 5 mins but half an hour later he wasnt finished. He then takes you to his computer then to my wifes shock photoshopped her and thought it was great to smooth our skin out to make us look younger?!?
In the end we got sick and once he was eventually finished left us to go through all the pictures to pick some out,we picked 2 and told him and his face totally dropped he must of thought we'd buy 10/20 at stupid prices........One to AVOID.
Also you had to book a table for all the resturants and its a good idea to get in early because they all get filled fairly quickly.
Over all the complex is very nice but once you step outside it totally changes and its even worse at night, dont get on a camel and very carefull it just didnt seem safe at night.
