Arrived at the airport and the taxi that we booked with the hotel did not show up. However we got to the hotel which is on a massive resort. Room was nice, staff are very friendly. The double bed was actually two singles with mattress turned crossway's, very poor.
No information supplied in the room as to what services were available, room service information etc. etc. Things that you would expect at a Blackpool boarding house!
The Prestige claims to have a private beach and two heated swimming pools, it does have a private beach which is a five minute walk down the hill, not so good for the elderly unless you make use of the free golf cart service. It does have two pools but not heated!
The private beach is next to the departure point for the diving boats and the boats have little concern for those snorkeling off the walkway its an accident waiting to happen.
We paid the half board supplement which gives access to 9 restaurants, avoid the Nautilus, the steak grill, the piazza and the kebab house. The steak grill and the piazza were the pits! However Plaisers restaurant was exceptional both for evening meal and breakfast and again the staff were exceptional. Most other places the staff were friendly just the food quality was poor which was a shame because they really promote their organic farm and use of organic vegetables.
The worst part was checkout which took 40 minutes! When we booked via internet the room rate was 120 euros a night, we paid in full on arrival however on checkout we were charged extra for the last 4 nights because of currency fluctuation!!
Not the 5 star experience we expected, resort is overall about a 3 star. Food 3 star (Plaisers restaurant 4+ star) the Prestige hotel 3 star. The staff overall are very hard working and pleasant and make the resort a better place than it is.
We went for a fortnight and would probably not go back unless a cheap deal came up for some winter sun.
