Just got back from a week at the Club Magic Life with two friends and it was simply magical. Having been to Egypt before and stayed at the Tropicana Grande Azure (excellent hotel) I must admit I felt a little disappointed, as first impressions were that the hotel was a little dated and not nearly as Grand as I was expecting, but after just one day all that was quashed, the staff, food, cleanliness, location and facilities were wonderful, very relaxed and above all very friendly. Mostly Brits while we were there 28th May - 5th June. We were in a junior suite in block 22, the Relax pool was just what the Dr had ordered and on our doorstep, along with the wellness centre, still withing the hotel, where we got a great deal on a full body massage (well worth it at 600 Egyption £'s) we negotiated hard to get that price, all part of the fun! Our room was also well located for the outside cocktail bar which we frequented every evening before dinner, bar staff just can't do enough for you. The main restaurant is very good unlike some all inclusives where it feels like you're in a staff canteen, majority of the food is cooked infront of you so always fresh and themed nights make it extra special, but I would recommend booking into the individual restaurants too (3 in total) Mai Thai was our favourite! Although it's not necessary, after a couple of days we did tip a couple of the waiters & the towel man/lifeguard just to say thank you for looking after us and they were very grateful and didn't look for more but did look after us! One big tip would be don't panic about changing your money into Egyption £'s (the exchange rate is far better when you get there) but they except sterling anyway as well as American $'s infact I would say they prefer it?? Drink plenty of water which is available 24/7 in small or large sealed Nestle bottles from every bar on site, it does get very hot our there 36-39* and only dropping to 28-30* in the evenings, the air con becomes your best friend!! The hotel entertainment was varied and as far as hotel entertainment goes was very good, the Beach Party was exceptional with Belly Dancers, traditional dancing and a DJ that got everyone on their feet in the warm sand. For those looking for more to do there is plenty going on within the complex, at the bigger pool area with loads of activities, kids club, etc. But it was the Relaxing pool for us with waiter service and a good book! We travelled with Thomson Holidays which as always was fine but when did they stop the films and entertainment on the plane??? This is quite a long flight and something I always look forward to at the start of my holiday and passess the time away on the way back!
