We stayed at the Creative Mexicana for 1 week all inclusive and had a really enjoyable time. We read the reviews on this website beforehand and this had made us slightly apprehensive but we needn't have worried as it was great holiday and we would recommend not only visiting here but also going for the all inclusive option as well.
Food - This was the biggest concern as my partner can be a bit of a fussy eater but even she managed to eat 3 meals a day with very little to complain about. Despite previous reviews fish was on offer for 3 of the 7 days we were there and there was a reasonable variety of food to keep us from going hungry. A tip we found was to check out the "kids corner" section over by the bread as this occasionally has some of the more "English" options such as chips. The main reason that we would suggest you go all inclusive is for the drinks as alcoholic drinks in the hotel are between £2.50 & £3.50 so if you are planning on drinking round the pool or at night then you can make up the difference in price between all inclusive and bed and breakfast if you average 2 drinks a day.
Room - Our room was really nice as it happens, we were in 225 and it was clean, spacious and airy with a large balcony, walk in shower, safe, air conditioning and a mini bar. The tv in the room has various foreign language channels but if you put on channel 8 or 9 then you will get 2 english channels which are dedicated to films and general light entertainment. The rooms were cleaned everyday by a very nice gentleman who seemed to be working very hard and he was always friendly enough to drop us a hello everytime we left the room. I would advise that we were in the new block and apparently the rooms are nicer in this section as we did see one in the older section which was not as large or nice but it was still acceptable.
Facilties - Both pools were fine and we never struggled to find a sunbed (possibly time of the year) The main pool is absolutely freezing and the idea of swimming up to the pool bar to have a drink was a bad one when I attempted it on the 3rd day as I couldn't feel my bottom half when I had finished, the other pool however is heated but had more families and children around it. You are given a pass which entitles you to free towels which is good and means you do not need to take your own. There was table tennis available from the towel service for free which was good. I would however say that if you want to play tennis then dont bother as the tennis court is a dusty unkempt area and I am unsure whether you would be able to figure out where the markings are.
Staff - I found all the staff at the hotel really friendly and helpful and contrary to what I read you don't need to tip to get this treatment (although it is appreciated if you do!). The pool boys, waiters, bell boys, cleaners and barmen were all cheerful and hard working and we found that a smile and good manners tended to go a long way.
Entertainment - This was not great with most of the evening enterainment starting after 11pm to coincide with the end of the all inclusive so as such we did not see much of it during our holiday and yes the music in the bar is loud but not excessively so and it is so much fun to stand at the bar and watch the weird and wonderful dancing of the different cultures of the world.
Location - This was fine it was a £3 taxi to Nama? Bay which was reasonable however you can take the free bus from the hotel which goes at 9 in the evning and returns at 11pm. There were a couple of supermarkets and various perfume shops within easy reach of the hotel which was more than sufficient to wander round if you do not plan on leaving the complex during your holiday. Remember that if you do get a taxi then agree the price beforehand and have the right change to hand as taxi drivers have a tendency to try and keep the money as an improtu tip.
Beach - Sorry didnt make it there during our holiday which is very uncultured of us.
Nama? Bay - We went there for 1 night and it was worth going just to see it more than anything. As you would expect it is very commercialised and setup for tourists with KFC, Macdonalds, TGI's and a hard rock cafe there to eat and also a Ministry of Sound and Passia nightclub (if its to your taste!). We did find people were a bit pushier in this area and surprisingly everyone seemed to be obsessed with giving us their business cards!, anyhow we had a great evening finishing up going to one of the many Shisha? Cafes in the area.
Quad Biking - I felt we should mention the one excursion we did and we would highly recommend it which was the quad biking into the desert. It was lots of fun and for £30 for the both of us (sharing a quad bike) we felt it was worth it. Be aware that you do get the usual pressure on the stops to ride a camel, have a shisha pipe, buy drinks etc. but as long as you politely decline they you will have a great time.
Overall I would highly recommend this holiday as it was value for money, yes its not a 5 star hotel but you are not paying 5 star prices and as such as long as you remain aware of what you are getting for your money then you will not be disappointed.
