The star hotel rated 5*
If you want to spend 13 days in reception complaining to management and getting the same answer tomorrow tomorrow then go to the Star Hotel all inclusive at this hotel means drinking outside at the all inclusive bar the white plastic cups are a must dont miss this experience glasses well are few and far between if you manage to get hold of one dont let it go until you arechecking out of the hotel the bars inside the hotel were empty we went to the Star Hotel for the New Year and as we go away for the new year every year we assumed we would be enjoying the new year in the manner we have become accustomed to at other holiday resorts all over the world never take anything for granted we were told by the management at the hotel we had to pay 100$ each to go to the gala dinner we could get no answers from the hotel as to what the menu was for the Gala night as the restaurant food was pretty unedible to english palettes the representative at the hotel tried to find out the menu and what entertainment was going to be put on for the dinner but we still couldnt find out what we were being asked to pay 100$ per person we were told by Mr Mohamed management and our rep that all the english visitors which was probably 20 couples on the 30th of December that we would be allowed to go to the gala dinner free of charge as we were not informed of the charge by our booking agents in England and the Russian and Rumanian guests had prepaid for the dinner prior to their visiting the hotel we were all looking forward to the night even though we were unsure of the menu at least there would be a party for the new year we went to the reception on the 31st of December as we had not received our entrance tickets and our rep had told us he would get the tickets to our rooms by 10am on new years eve only to be told the owner Mr Raoulf had overruled his manager and we would not be allowed entrance to the gala evening unless we paid we then asked what would be provided for the english guests staying at the Star hotel and were told we would have to eat at the Sun hotel we joined the other english guests for the evening as none of us english had not known of the charge and had not taken extra monies for this charge the hotel had no credit card facilities on site my husband and I had 2 bread rolls with chips for our New Years eve dinner there was no entertainment we had plastic cups no music and new years eve would have been a nightmare it was like we were being punished for not paying for the dinner but as the british do we stood proud and made our own entertainment without music W e never had hot water all the holiday the staff were very good hoping for tips the egyption management are brilliant at not understanding english when being faced with complaints they understand your problems but do nothing to help you my husband is 63years and I am 61years and it was the worst holiday we have ever had we will never return to eygpt it was an utter nightmare from start to finish and we couldnt wait to get on the plane home yesterday. Raoulf international should not be sold to english customers as a 5* hotel we would have not rated this hotel as a 2* brits read this review and beware.

Kateb glad to be home holiday maker.

“Plastic Cups Hell”

Star Hotel

7 Dec 2007

We were booked into the Sun Hotel but were advised that we would be staying at the Star (no explanation given). The other hotel (Moon) was empty and the whole complex of casino, restaurants, cinema etc. was closed and in a poor state of repair. The only bar available for All Inclusive guests was outside. You had to fetch your own drinks for dinner from outside and all drinks were served in white plastic vending cups. Not what you would expect for a supposedly 5 star hotel. No usual all inclusive snacks - ice cream display was empty, only cold pizza at about 6.00 p.m. Food was poor e.g our first night's main course was mince. Chef prepared eggs of your choice but only one guest at a time. The replacement toaster only took 3 slices of bread and took 5 minutes to brown. Same pasta & sauce every single night. Pool was half empty as being cleaned. No details in the room or anywhere else of meal times or other hotel facilities. The other bars in the hotel were not all inclusive so were empty. The reception staff were surly and unhelpful. Complained twice that our empty mini bar fridge was not cold but nothing happened. Beach was superb but the hotel is abysmal - Stay Somewhere Else.

Star Hotel

What can i say to many things wrong with this hotel to even begin 95% Russia Market catered for Quantity not quality for the Russia market.
All Inclusive 5 Star you are having a laugh.
Could be so much better with correct management and marketing in place, But for now give it a miss. you have been for warned.
On a possitive the staff were nice and work very hard to impress the british with little or no support for management above.
We will return to the Area but will give the Star and Sun a miss.
If you have booked and payed for your holiday enjoy the lovely beach , Snorkling ect.
We still made sure we enjoyed ourselfs.
Good Luck.

“Could not wait to get home!”

Star Hotel

Returned from this Hotel on 15 November 2007 after 7 days and could not wait to get home. The only good thing was the weather. When we arrived the receptionist tried to transfer us to the Sun Hotel (On the same site) but we said No, they backed down and we were given a room in the Star, the room was nice and cleaned daily. We were told it was a 5 star hotelwhen booking from Teletext, but it should have been a 1 star. Our room looked out over the quiet pool, this pool was only half full and contained green algae growing on the bottom plus rubbish, no one swam in it. Although All inclusive, we were told we had to pay for tea or coffee outside the main restaurant, and there were no snacks outside mealtimes. The cinema and casino were closed, and I believe had been for a long time. No entertainment in the evening. The Hotel was 90% full of Russians, who proved to be the locusts of the dining room, refusing to queue and causing arguments most days. The resort of Nabq Bay was just like a very large building site, with hotels half finished and others being built, lots of empty shops and rubbish. Will not be going back to Sharm El Sheikh for a very long time!

Have just returned from Star Hotel, Part of Raouf International Hotels. Part of a three hotel complex owned by a Mr. Raouf. Billed as entertainment capital of Sharm El Sheik. The hotel was virtually empty. Often only us and another couple on the flight were the only ones eating in the dining room - formica tables. ALL of the facilities except dining room and two bars were closed. Bowling Alley worked for one night. Cinema, theatre, casino and swimming pool closed. We could use pool at Sun Hotel which was also virtually empty but it was a question of finding which sun umbrella was least broken. The Moon hotel was closed down and becoming derelict. Despite having 90% of rooms empty there was no courtesey room at the end of the holiday, and we had to pay extra to keep our room on for a shower. Luckily we were only half board as the food was not too good although they seemed to cook enough for a full hotel.
The beach was good, and there was a lovely hotel up the road where we sometimes ate, and used most evenings. The Star had an Egyptian evening the only entertainment and they managed to find about a dozen guests. No balconies at this hotel
