This hotel is a 5 star all inclusive, We were dumped at the hotel and told a rep would be there in the morning. The mini bar was empty and there was no food available, Breakfast was a joke. there was one cooking station and one waiter going round with tea and coffee, we waited 30minutes. The fully inclusive consisted of the pool bar where you cound get a drink in a plastic glass no food that we saw. Lunch and dinner were the same food all cold nothing was warm even. The pools were shut, and all the other things advertised were closed. It took us 5 days before we could get moved as we found no rep at the hotel. The turkish travel agent overthere came to our rescue and moved 5 families. There is nothing for children at all. There are no shops anywhere near so you can't even buy sweets for the kids.
We were at the gala dinner and if the food had been hot it would have been great except we had to go down three flights of steps and outside to get a dring in a plastic glass.

We arrived late in this hotel and despite information given at booking, we did not have a bed in our room for our son. This took a further hour and a half to arrange (at 3.00am) and they tried to extract a further £140 for a rickety bed. All bed linen and sheets dirty. The food was not recognisable at all and we resorted to the bar, however there is no vodka in the hotel and the wine takes about 20 minutes to appear. ( I think they use an off licence). They also charge approx £14 per bottle whereas other hotels charge £9. The service in the restaurant and pool area is non existant and if you do manage to order anything you do not receive any change - unless you confront them, ignore the initial 'have no idea what change you mean' and continue pressing for your money. Limited coke, butter and milk in hotel and certainly no childrens meals on half board basis - but you can order them on room service for additional price. Kids area is certainly not monitored as on 3 visits the woman in charge spent the time in the loo smoking and constantly on the phone. There is no entertainment and nothing to do. Charges made for snooker and bowling. This hotel is a shed designed to get you in and keep ripping you off. We moved as it was so disgusting.

My girlfriend and I booked this hotel last minute (New Year 2006/7). When we arrived we found the hotel to be mostly empty. The staff were polite but didnt really have any idea what i was talking about. The level of service drove me to rage at times. For instance i required some water at 4am via room-service. They brought me about 8 plates of food? No water. Eventually i went to reception and stood there while they got me some water. As i was half board I had to run a room tab. We didnt eat there much as the food was awful. My bill wasnt expensive but they didnt accept any kind of plastic??? Madness for a large hotel. we used the restuarants on the beach and in the resorts next door. I would not recommend staying in this hotel. The pool in the Star hotel was freezing cold and half full of water. The only people I saw go in it were 2 lads from Liverpool and thry came out quicker then they went in! this is because the pool doesnt get any sun along with the rooms at the back of the hotel and consequently were freezing! we had to change room to the sunier front side. the Sun hotel (part of same complex) had a heated pool but was packed and had the loudest music destorting from the speakers. Wouldnt have been so bad if it wasnt mostly the crazy frog and Barbie song!!! We spent most of the day on the beach, which was pleasant. Im sad to say I would advise against going to this hotel. A serious lack of funding and care has let the hotel down and it really wasnt a pleasant experience. There are many hotels along the same piece of beach which were alot pretier and organised. I would go back to sham but would do my reserach better next time when it comes to Hotels. Hope this review helps!

33 of my family members and friends journey to [----] started when we booked 6 nights , from december 27th onwards ...at 'the star hotel' in sharm el sheikh...the hotel was pathetic, more like a hospital, the staff rude and, the manager was unbearable, and it was the worst trip of our lives...truly a nightmare.....the hotel has the same food rotated day in and day out..i would not be surprised if they just froze and reheated the same food the next day and the day after.....
the vegetarians literally had to starve as the same menu of unedible pumpkin was thrown in the benmery with some boiled cabbage and carrots.....most of us had to eat outside the hotel and spend all that extra monies though we had paid for full board......i think the downfall of this hotel is the manager, he was so rude that at one time i told him that if he worked for me, he would be the first one i would fire.

though we were full board, the staff were so confused that they would come to ask us 4-5 times at every meal....are you half board? are you full board? nobody knew what was going around and the whole management and staff were a confused mess. moreover, none of the waiters knew english, none wore uniforms, and wore slippers,, and if you would ask for butter at breakfast, the waiter would return after 20 minutes to inform you that the butter is finished. once when we requested mashed food for the baby, which took them 15 minutes to understand first of all, then he comes back after another 15 minutes to inform us that they dont have a blender, and when we finally asked for porridge, it came after 45 minutes, the child had gone to sleep crying and hungry, and when we complained to the arrogant manager, he was so rude and said the baby was not his headache....

On the new year, the management and staff knew Mr. raouf, the owner of the hotel would attend.....maybe to impress him the programme and food was much better compared to everyday basis....and mr. raouf is such a gentleman, does he know how the management and staff are ruining his hotel's reputation behind his back? please do not go to this hotel even if you get a complimentary stay.....

“Lovely hotel - Pity it's empty”

The hotel is fantastic, really, but why only two points? Well it's all rather irrelevant if the hotel is empty bar one or two families. Apparently August is off peak and as the hotel is part of a complex of 3 connected hotels, only one of them was being used. Fine, that makes sense, but not when you've paid several hundred pounds more than other guests who booked into the Sun hotel next door and you end up using the same facilities. Also nobody bothered to explain any of this and we were confused as to why we were given a room in 'the wrong hotel'. When I complained they obliged and we were moved over to the Star hotel, but then we were the only family in a large, empty hotel. Two other families arrived a few days later but it was still very eerie staying in an empty hotel. It’s such a shame as the complex has a lot to offer. The staff were lovely, the food was excellent and the rooms were kept immaculate. Security was very good too. However with two hotels empty, and one about a third full it was too quiet. If you are looking for a quiet holiday in lovely hotel then book into the Sun hotel. We felt cheated because we paid for a superior hotel, but could not use any of it’s bars or cinema, we just used it to sleep in. They should not accept bookings knowing that it’s effectively closed.
