i can honestly say that there is only one major issue with this hotel and that is the entertainment programme. ( or lack of it!! ) but don't get me wrong it did not in any way shape or form ruin my stay here. We are a young family 30, 29, 41/2 and 18months and to us this hotel was a great recommendation by our travel agent. The aqua park has everything from a lazy river to the super fast kamikaze slides with every thing in between, there is no need for the usual inflatable toys and lilo's as there is a huge selection of floating apparatus already in the the pools provided for the use of guests. Whilst still on the subject of the park and pools, i must mention the fact that there is a lifeguard at every pool and recreational staff present at all times and they certainly add to the fun factor of the days!!! There is a pool towel service and you are given a towel card per person upon check in.
Food at the complex is varied each day to a theme, ie.. local, italian, american, international etc. with each evening meal at two dishes are cooked fresh for you as required such as pasta and bbq'd meats. An excellent salad selection for both lunch and evening meals, as with the bread and rolls selection which was all cooked on site. There is even a chefs herb garden round the back of the spa, which is used daily!! Breakfast has a good selection including fried eggs, ommlettes, pancakes and waffles all cooked fresh for you as you order, now you cant say fairer than that! The snack bar isn't brilliant but it serves as a means if you miss brekky or lunch ( in all honesty after a big brekky or a three course lunch you must be a greedy guts if you want more!!! ) The brochure does not tell you, but you DO NEED TROUSERS FOR MEN FOR DINNER. If you haven't got them, they may make you eat outside.
The bars all round will serve you all the usual cocktails , spirits, beers and i can say i did try most of them and was not dissatisfied to say the least. If you do tip the barman or waiter you will notice that drinks are suddenly brought to you when yours has finished. If you buy a bottle of water on your first day, you can always fill that bottle up at the water dispensers all over the resort.
A lot of people did get some sort of stomach upset, but if you understand that you are going to a far away hot country with different cooking methods and oils, you will let it pass better. Apparently the doctor is expensive - we went straight to the excellent pharmacy around the corner who gave us medicine - about £15 with a reciept and it worked instantly.
There are mosquitos, and they do seem to hang out in the bedouin tent! The deet free stuff we took with us wasn't powerful enough and we bought some really good stuff out there.
We did 2 trips, but not through first choice. Both companies are based in reception area - we did the quad biking safari - fantastic fun, we all loved it and they let us take the kids with us (need a backpack to carry a large bottle of water). We also did the submarine trip, which was good, got to see a lot of fish, but for me personally, the trip was a bit off-putting when a cockroach crawled out from behind the rear seat I was sitting on. This was the only cockroach I saw the entire holiday. The hotel is incredibly bug free, just a few flies (reminder - it is a hot country!).
There are other nations in the hotel Russians, Italians a few germans as well I think, and apart from the concept of queueing being lost on them, all nations got along well together.
I made the most of hotel facilities. I had a massage for around £18 (v. good as masseur was a man so he was a bit more powerful), I had a cotton hair removal thing for £10 (excrutiating, but I now have BEAUTIFUL eyebrows) and we had a shisha for the last few nights which only cost £1.50 a pop and they will put more coals on it for free (just make sure Mohammed who smokes impressively does it!). We used kids club and the mini disco which both operate every day. Kids club is the one of the only places in the hotel where the staff are women and Maha is great, very professional. Our son went there every day - he mostly watched DVDs, but we were happy with his few hours out of the sun.
The staff around the hotel are possibly one of the best things about the hotel. I have never met such friendly, welcoming and positive people. We did make a point of learning a bit of arabic before we went and this also helped greatly. Egyptians are very broody about children and don't be alarmed if you find your little ones being hugged or kissed - it is just Egyptian nature.
We had a fantastic holiday and are already planning out trip back there next year.

Shame on the hotel management, they just could not be bothered to do anything with the none existent night time entertainment .ive just wasted £2500to be bored for 2weeks. beware drinking out of their water buts(suspect it is their tap water).many english going down with severe stomach problems,my wife is not right a week later. On the upside the waterpark was great for my teen kids,el sayed(towel man)an absolute diamond at the waterpark.Food was ok plenty of choice.when drinking anything beware all glasses are washed in their tap water no detergent evident at all outside bars.Beer is free at the waterpark, problem is i dont think their is any alcholol in it that goes for all the bars in general .A very disapointing holiday the hotel should come with a health warning ,fluffy slippers and a pipe! By the way rooms are very smart

“Good Hotel - But Crap Food”

Park Inn Sharm El Sheikh Resort

Food - This was a major problem as we are vegetarians and this hotel did not have much to eat. All we ate was chips, salad and pasta. The only good thing that was good was the deserts, we dreaded our meals. Across the roaqd from the hotel was park inn's sister hotel which was Radisson hotel. You get 25% off on the hotels restuarants. We dined at an italian restuarant a number of times which was excellent. We also dined at an indian restuarant called Rangolis in Sofitel hotel in Naama Bay. This restuarant served excellent meals and is very popular for tourists. Although we were all inclusive at Park inn hotel we spent more money dinning out for dinner. Overall, I would rate this hotel none value for money and I definately will not be going back to this hotel.

Rooms- Excellent size rooms including bathroom, the only problem we had was towards the last few days where the bathroom smelt like sewage for a few hours. I could not use the bathroom during this time as I was heaving. This hotel does not no the meaning of hot water, i had to leave the shower on as soon as I woke up so that the water heats up on time even then the water was not always hot.

Water park- excellent water park with excellent rides, the only problem that we had was with the lazy river ride where there were dead flies floating in the water.

“Return to Nabq”

This was the second time we had visited the Park Inn (formerly Golden Resort). On the previous visit, it had not been open for long and it was our first time in Egypt. It obviously made a good impression as we have now been to Egypt a total of four times.
On this occasion, the changes to the Nabq area and to the Park Inn were quite major: There has been a significant amount of development in the area and the hotel has had a couple of new wings built, as well as a seven-pool waterpark.
If travelling on a custom-built holiday (booking flight and hotel separately) as we did, it may be worth contacting the hotel and requesting they arrange a taxi for your transfers as this would work out cheaper than pre-booking a transfer through an agent.
The hotel comprises of a main block housing reception Panorama bar, conference suite and the two restaurants (served from the one kitchen, so the same menu in both). There are two pools: lower and upper. The lower pool is closest to the main block and has a poolside bar and the towel supply hut. The upper pool has a swim-up pool bar, and its patio area probably receives more of the welcome breeze. There are several accommodation blocks all comprising ground, first and second floor rooms. The large bedrooms are very comfortable. The Health Spa has a heated indoor pool, gymnasium, massage rooms and sauna. Behind the accommodation blocks are a Bedouin tent where some entertainment can be enjoyed, and the waterpark – Aqua Bast – which is free to guests and I believe to paying public. On the beach, which is a 5-10 minute walk, is a beach bar which caters from 1100-1700, and has ice cream.
The all-inclusive fare includes buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner; morning and afternoon snacks; water, non-alcoholic and locally-produced alcoholic beverages and beer. The restaurants are ‘canteen style’ but the food is perfectly edible and very good sometimes. As long as you do not have gourmand tendencies, there is sufficient selection to allow for a different main course every night over a week. At busy times, one may find all tables either occupied or requiring cleaning: This is no problem. When either the restaurant manager or staff sees you looking for a table, they attend to you very quickly to ensure you are seated without too much delay. The wine – white or red – is palatable and is served in the restaurants and the Panorama bar. The spirits however are a different matter: If you are at all fussy about your spirits, take out some duty free with you and request at the bar the mixers and ice which you can take to your room (equipped with a fridge). The beer is lager-type Sakara or Stella (not Artois) and is quite pleasant.
There is a large Russian guest population at this hotel, as with many others in Egypt, so be prepared for the odd one or two who don’t understand the concept of queuing and who may be rude to staff. Remember that the average service sector wage is about £40/month and that the service staff do rely on tips to a large extent. We tipped LE50 (£5) in the Panorama bar on day one and were treated like royalty for the week not being allowed to go to the bar for our own drinks. The porter taking your case to your room should get LE10; the pool towel man LE20 at the end of the holiday. Your favourite waiter and barman should get a farewell tip of LE50-100. This will probably be pooled and split between the restaurant / bar staff.
There were no staff to whom we took a dislike: They were all courteous, friendly and helpful. Also, we were not aware of any stomach upsets at the hotel during our stay, which is rare for Egypt in our opinion.
All in all, we found this hotel good value for money. It does not pretend to be a five-star and would deserve a 3+ rating. It will be great value for families with pre-teen children where they do not have to pay extra for the waterpark, soft drinks and ice-creams.

We booked the Park inn a week before the holiday for £350 All inc. each for one week on the 16th April 08

The hotel is very beautiful, the gardens are perfectly looked after, with a lot of out door features... like 4 pools, a playground for kids, a massive kids pool, loads of water slides, a bedwin entertainment tent.

The entertainment is poor, one night we had one single game of bingo and one night we had a dance show that lasted 4 songs (half hour). We never went to anything else as it was not enjoyable at all.

The staff are very polite, helpful, and in a dry sense of humour funny. The staff do not bring you drinks like some other hotels, so if you want one then go get one. The staff will always say good morning/afternoon as you pass them

The Food...
The one everyone wants to know... The breakfast was great, something for everyone. Same as lunch. Dinner was ok 5/10 something for everyone, some items were a little under cooked but still eddible. But the food seem to be the same every day. There were little veriations every day which we kept trying to go for to change our daily meal but it was not much, varied from chicken nugets, very dried beef (very very small pautions), and shish kebab meat (the one that looks like a sausage). It was ok but have had far better elsewhere

The room was massive, cleaned daily, bedding changed every three days, oragarmi towels, etc. Fresh water is not provided, you need to go buy this yourself externally.

Non meal time snacks are a joke, there is one bar that serves a snack for only 30mins around 3pm and flys all over the food. if your hungry your only choice is to goto the super market next door and buy crisps. :-/

The weather hit 41.c which is crazy heat and it only gets hotter as the summer approaches bring your own suncream as it costs £13 minimum for a cheap suncream.

The beach is not close, it is a half a mile walk accross the road. another reviewer wrote it is 5 mins away, i timed it, it took us 20 mins to walk at a good pace. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR OLDER PEOPLE. The hotel got so many complaints that the ocean was close. It is not, but there is a shuttle bus.

Location is very poor, yes there is building works but you can here it, and Nabq bar is boaring. there is not one single bar or resturant. If you goto nabq bay then you only go for your hotel that is it. Narma Bay is 18Miles away (£5 in a taxi) half hour ride each way.

Kids would enjoy it, but the elderly might not
