We chose this amazing place to introduce us to India and wanted the chance to stay with a typical goan family and experience their way of life for a few days. It completely exceeded our expectations. Any fears we initially had melted away within 5 minutes of meeting Carlos when he came to collect us from the airport.
We were given a tour of their beautiful ancestral home and awe inspiring gardens and felt at home instantly. We knew that the area was rural and extremely quiet before we came here as must anybody who books this place, so feel that to mark down on location is unfair. The peace and quiet was perfect for us as we just wanted to relax. I would point out if coming from the airport with no rupees you may want to stop along the way as there is no bank in the vicinity. You would have to take a trip into Margao which is 15 mins taxi away and very busy, round trip taxi 500 rupees.
The hospitality of Carlos and Merlyn is second to none along with their fantastic staff and of course Maria the chef for her culinary delights. We ate all our meals with our hosts and made no special requests and just had what was offered, everything being delicious. Our dining and drinks bill was very reasonably priced.
When it came to leaving after 3 extremely relaxing days we were quite sad and we left feeling like part of the family.
We will most definitely be returning at the end of April after staying in Palolem, to finish off our holiday with our new found friends.
Love Carlos and Candy
