Staying at Hotel Victoria was a unique experience for our family. It was like a home inside the great Jaisalmer Fort. The room was big and comfortable. Decor was true Rajasthani, lots of cushions in bright colours. Bathroom was modern.

The best thing abut the hotel was its owner, Pankaj. He was very helpful and friendly, always available to answer any questions. It looked like he took great pride in his hotel which is inherited by him. His forefathers used to live there.

Overall a very good experience.

Our stay at Jaisalmer was even more special because of where we stayed and the care provided by Pankaj and his staff. We reserved two rooms one was a deluxe and the other a super deluxe A/C room. Both were very well maintained and sufficient and both had a spectacular of the fort and the town. The terrace and the views where spectacular. The food were prepared to our tastes and our requirements. Pankaj was very helpful in arranging for trips etc for us. I would highly recommend Hotel Victoria for anybody who is looking for a taste of great Indian hospitality.

“Very hospitable”

Hotel Victoria

Enjoyed our 3 day stay here very much in the 'honeymoon suite'. This is a very good sized tower room at roof level facing West for the sunset in a simple hotel within the fort, with yellow sandstone floors and very tasteful Rajasthani furnishings plus (acceptable, but not yet updated) bathroom, with a charming window seat (jarokha) which you don't want to leave.

Of Pankaj, Sushil and the rest of the friendly crew, there was always someone around to provide drinks, good food, wash clothes, give advice, organise a trip if that was what you wanted, or help with finding the right shop. Pankaj is refreshingly straightforward. He also responds quickly to emails.

Re value for money: we stayed during the Desert Festival so the room price was way outside any normal price. Pankaj assures me that it is far less outside the festival. Lets hope that it stays that way....

We have had a very great stay at Hotel Victoria. We have to say thank you to Pankaj, Sushil and all people there. All of them are very nice and helpful. The hotel is located right on the border of the fort, the room we stayed is just in one of the pillars of the fort, overseeing the town of Jaisalmer. An excellent sunset view can also be enjoyed on the rooftop. The hotel is small but home like. The atmosphere is warm and calm. The rooms are clean and furnished, all with attached bathrooms and very good 24 -hour hot shower!! The bed is comfortable and really keep us warm in the cold winter. The food are tasty with satisfactory hygienic condition. We've joined the desert safari arranged by the hotel, staying in a nice tent. Pick-up service can be provided by the hotel, enjoy your stay there!!
