I've had to travel to the Albany area numerous times over the last 4 years due to persoal matters that required periodic visits.
I always check the availability of theis Fairfield before any other place. I've never had a bad stay here- including December 2003 when we were snowed in due to over 2 feet of snow- on top of the more than 2 feet that was already on the ground. Everyone who could on the service staff pitched in and helped dig people out. My party especially needed to get out as we had a Funeral to attend.
The rooms are always clean and functioning properly. The pool area is great- being indoors is a definite plus given the climate in this area.
The continental breakfast is one of the better out there- fresh fruit, juice, fresh muffins and bread, oatmeal (instant) and usually you can make your own hot waffles. It's definitely not your donuts on a plate and watered down juice in the corner variety .
I've had some problems while staying there- but they were always taken care of by the staff in an efficient manner.
The worst time to try and stay anywhere in the Albany area is during August- Saratoga is racing and rooms can be scarce. The rates go up then but the rest of the year the price is usually reasonable.
Yes the directions can be confusing- but even when they are right the exit itself can be confusing.
Bottom line- I'll stay there again if I need to be in Albany.
