Stayed here last week, in an ocean-view deluxe room. As soon as I entered the room, the balcony and the view attracted me immediately. It was late afternoon, about 15C and sunny, and waiting for that glorious sunset while sipping on a cappuccino or a drink makes that room worth the price.
My Korean friends told me that during the summer millions of Koreans flock to Hae Un Dae beach, and now I can understand why. So in turn I can advise that the best time to stay here is April-May or September-October, before and after the crowds.
The room itself now. It was on the newer Annex building, well-appointed, nice bed, ironing board and iron, fully stocked but pricey fridge, and curiously, other amenities for sale, like Bulgari sets of lotion and perfume.
The bathroom was spacious, with tub and shower separate, but the lighting was dim. Shaving was precarious here!
Didn't try the breakfast, so no opinion there. I had dinner at the Italian restaurant on the second floor with a party of 6, which was good with an impeccable service. My company also had a dinner function in the Main building for 100 guests and the service was again impeccable.
I believe the pool was closed for renovation, till January, so double-check if that's important to you.
The ground floor bar at the Main bldg is a good relaxing spot with live piano music.
Now the casino. There are three Paradise hotels and casinos in Korea and this is one of them. It's not really much of a casino to speak of, more like what you'd find on a cruise ship. 2-3 roulette tables, 1-2 poker tables, quite a few slot machines, and plenty of baccarat tables for the Chinese crowd :) It is a good diversion though, especially if you come from a casino-devoid country like China.
Side note: Korean citizens are not allowed in the casino, and they make no exceptions, just in case you want to invite your Korean friends. No foreign passport, no entrance.
To sum up,
* Location, right on the beach.
* Balcony with table and chairs, gorgeous views from ocean-view rooms.
* Spacious rooms with good amenities
* Great service and typical Korean politeness at any part of the hotel
Cons: the only ones I can really think of, expensive internet, if I remember correctly, 5000 won/hour, or 25000 won for 24 hrs. And dim lighting in the bathroom.
get an ocean view room at the Annex, the Annex is a newer building.
