Andaman Beach Suites Hotel

My family and I stayed at the Andaman Beach Suites in August 2007 for 7 nights. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment family suite. It was very good value for what we paid as it was very spacious.
The sofa bed in the lounge area could have done with a clean as it had a bit of a stinky musty smell, other than that, there were no other complaints. The service in this hotel was very good, always with a smile. Breakfast was good. The room was cleaned well.
I would reccomend this hotel as very good value. It is probably a 3 and half star hotel. The location is ideal for families as it is located in a quiet part of Patong in Phuket.
I would recommend CHONG KO TRAVEL for all of your bookings to day trips, islands and shows. They are an excellent and reliable company located close to Andaman Beach Suites Hotel at [--]
My family and I booked trips to Phi Phi Islands, Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island - used in James Bond 'The Man with The Golden Gun' staring Roger Moore and 'Panyee Village' - Gypsy Island), Kai Islands, Simon Cabaret, Phuket Fantasea Show.
The Phuket Fantasea show was spectacular and was worth every penny for the theatrics, singing, dance, interaction with elephants and animals, mid-air - high wire acrobatics, incredible stage set as good as anything in London's West End theatre district and the cultural insight.
The Simon Cabaret show was good, nevertheless, I do have some reservations regarding the professionalism of the cast players and the management team of this enterprise. Be careful ! My experience was a bad one. At the end of the show the cast members sneakily encourage you to take photos with them. My 11 year old daughter was coerced into having a photo with 2 of the lady boy performers while I visited the toilet. When I arrived at the 'phototaking' after visiting the toilet, I was presented with an unreasonable bill for the photos. Then, as the drama unfolded, 4 of the lady boys surrounded me and my wife and daughter, begging for a tip. The amateur photographer also demanded 400 baht for the 2 Kodak instant photos that had been taken. The unnecessary tasteless drama perpetrated by the lady-boy performers and amateur photographer of the show spoiled the evening. Up until then the show had been quite entertaining with a great song and dance performance and impressive stage set. I would not reccomend this show to anyone. Many people of the audience experienced the same tasteless drama. I myself was relieved of 1000 baht within 2 minutes by the aggressive lady boys.
Phi Phi Islands (Maya Bay - Used in the 1998 movie with Leonardo Di Caprio ' The Beach' ), Phang Nga Bay, Kai Islands were all spectacular. Phuket is a great holiday destination for families. The natural scenery of the Island is spectacular. The Andaman Beach Suites Hotel is the perfect choice of hotel if you want good service and fantastic accomodation space.

This was the second time we have stayed at Andaman Beach Suites. The hotel is high rise with great views from the higher floors.
Rooms are bigger than the normal size hotel room.
Pool area is average and not very attractive, though a bonus is you can use Club Andamans facilities nearby.

Location is perfect, at the quieter northern end of Patong Beach, staff are great and the refurbished rooms are excellent, especially Room 612 on the 6th floor. This room is huge with a four seater lounge, coffee table, extra chairs, 2 balconies, large bathroom, kitchen area (no cooking facilities) with sink and lots of cupboards.

We had a few problems with the airconditioning but this was attended to promptly. Package deals from Australia for this hotel normally include quite a few free nights making this hotel good value for money.

My husband and i took the kids on their first overseas holiday and stayed in this hotel. The bathroom was disgusting and everytime you had a shower it would flood the bathroom and the small hallway leading into the bathroom. The bed that should have been a king size bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together and my husband and i kept falling between the crack. The pool was mouldy for the first 3 days and we were never told that we could use the facilities of the sister hotel across the road which we ended up doing. The kids room was being renovated so that also couldnt be utelised and the whole time we were there (10 Days) the floor above ours was being renovated from 9am in the morning until 5pm in the afternoon with jack hammers and banging throughout this time.

I would never stay here again and would never recommend this hotel to anyone EVER

My Hubby & I stayed at the Andaman Beach Suites Hotel in a Mini suite deluxe room for 5 nights over Easter 2007. Unfortunately we had a mix-up with our booking at another hotel (found out by accident a month before) and alternative accommodation was not easy to be found over Easter in Patong Beach. We eventually chose the ABSH as other hotels available were further to walk and uphill. We were keen on staying at this end of Patong Beach, so location was fine.
Our first impression was very welcoming, loved the cold towels and ice cold refreshment.
Room: Mini Suite Deluxe, Room 1109, (approx AUS $90.00/night.)
We waited approx 45 mins for our room to be available, but realised this was because they were decorating our bed, as we had mentioned this holiday was a delayed honeymoon when we booked. Our room had a great view from balcony, but unfortunately our A/C compressor was also on the balcony and the fan faced us when sitting here, blowing hot air on us. Not what you need when it was very hot outside already. There was a connecting door between our room and 1110, and when our neighbors smoked in their room, the smoke came straight through the door. We had requested a non smoking room, so this seemed a bit odd. On top of this, the connecting room didn't have a balcony and we had their A/C compressor on our balcony as well as our own, so even if we turned our A/C off, we got blasted by hot air when our neighbors had theirs on.
The bathroom was spacious, but the shower leaked water all over the floor if you were in there for more than about a minute. The pool was nice to swim in, but had minimal shade and not really encouraging to spend a day sitting there relaxing with a good book. Very few sun lounges, as well.
Food: Only ate breakfast here (around 9-10.00am) every day - still enough food to choose from.
On a plus note, we did have wifi (bought internet card) here which we couldn't get at other places we stayed. Overall, nice average hotel for those watching the pennies, but now we have seen the area we would choose an alternative (there are plenty) and of course, you pay for it.

We only stayed here for one night and that was quite enough. The bath looked like it had been used to store coal. At first I thought that it was stained but when I rubbed it, it came off, just filthy. The room was ok, couch a bit stained though. Breakfast was ok and the staff were alright. A very mediocre place in sore need of a spring clean and some new furniture.
There was a lot of building work going on the area too and a pile driver was not a welcome addition to the stay.If you have another choice of hotel then take it!
