My wife and I got a great price for this hotel - B & B at £28 GBP/night/room. The location is great, being just a 5 mins walk from the main nightlife area, but still allowing for a quiet nights sleep. The beach is just across the road. The pool area is fantastic, even more so for children. The grounds and pool are the hotels main feature for a recommendation. We stayed in a standard room (superior, I think). This level of room was a bit shabby. The bathroom was small, the room needed refurbishing, i.e. new furniture and painting, however, it was reasoonably equipped, with mini bar fridge, tea/coffee, hairdryer, etc. The bed was old!!! We could feel every spring in the mattress and was quite uncomfortable which spoiled what is actually quite a good hotel with great facilities. Maybe the deluxe rooms offer greater luxury, or maybe we were just unlucky with the room we had. Maybe I would stay again despite the bed, because the location is great as is the pool area, also the price was very good. If only they had a new bed!!!

We have been going to Phuket for 20 years,Stayed at most Hotels.In 2005 we walked by the Thara Patong .When we asked about rates they Staff were so very helpful and took us on a wonderful tour of the Hotel..We moved in the next day , We stayed for 14 days, loved every minute of it..the food, the rooms, and of course, the wonderful Staff.
The next year we booked directly with the Hotel.Upon arrival we noticed all new faces, and not happy ones at that....then we were told..New owners....It was chaos...the old Staff had left to go to another Hotel and we had new Staff, but all in training.... It was hard work, no smiles and everything was just too hard for the staff.We left after 6 days.It was a pity, because this is a great location..... great pool,,
We leave in 10 days to return to Patong. Of course will not be staying at the Thara.

It is relatively a good decent Hotel located conveniently for those who desire to shop or beach lovers as accessibility to both are within walking distance.

The Superior rooms are fine but cleanliness especially for the carpeted area cum room edges can be improved as it does look like it has not been vacuumed for some time.

We were given two far end connecting rooms with obstructed Pool or Garden view and when we requested for room change, we were told that the Hotel is fully booked in which is true as we were told the same when we make the room reservation whereby we cannot have the Deluxe Rooms but to succumb to the Superior Rooms.

However, not sure whether we were allocated rooms with obstructed view was because we made the booking through sawadee.com in which was the cheapest rate that I managed to get out of all search engine and relevant booking channels or was it because we had a connecting room that was difficult to find in particular when the Hotel is fully booked.

We would have opted for the Deluxe Rooms in which was a better option due to the access and room setup and that was what we initially wanted until we were told that there were none available even though we made the said booking a month ahead as the dates coincide with the Bikers Week and Songkran Festival.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay for the rate we paid for as this is my third visit to Phuket with this Hotel being one of the better ones due to its locality no doubt as mentioned earlier, room cleanliness can be improved.

The Reservation Personnel at Sawadee.com that assisted me with my booking was Dupp and he was extremely helpful in assisting me to get an additional night in the same Hotel which was already fully booked and being very patient with my enquiries.

I felt that the old was a about average. The rooms toward the front (nearest baech road) were old and could use some maintence. Overall it was a basic clean room. The rooms in the rear (toward the desk) of the hotel are newer and clean. I would recommend one of these rooms. The hotel includes a great buffet breakfast. The pools are nice very kid friendly. The stuff was friendly, but always seemed very, very busy. The pool bar stuff did a great job and were very honest about returning lost money. Overall, it is a good hotel in a decent location, for a decent price. I would not pay more then 2000 baht / $65 a night. Beware: if you plan to have guests the hotel will charge you an extra 500 baht / $15 per night per guest.
